Susan Rice ‘meets with’ the Senate Intelligence Committee today in the Russia hacking scandal

July 21, 2017

According to CNN Susan Rice had a closed door “meeting” with the Senate Intelligence Committee earlier today. I use scare quotes around the word meeting because we do not know if she was testifying in front of the Committee or just meeting with the Committee. Was she under oath or was she not under oath? The article makes it sound as if she was not under oath, which I find interesting…

  Anyway, here is more:

Susan Rice, who served as former President Barack Obama’s national security adviser, quietly met behind closed doors Friday with Senate intelligence committee investigators probing Russian meddling in the elections, according to an official familiar with the matter.

Rice, one of three former Obama officials who met with the panel this week, has come under sharp scrutiny from some House Republicans because they believe she improperly “unmasked” — or revealed the identities collected in intelligence gathering — of Trump associates in US intelligence reports. She has vigorously denied any wrongdoing.
“Ambassador Rice met voluntarily with the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence today as part of the committee’s bipartisan investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 US presidential election,” said Erin Pelton, a spokesperson for Rice, who also served as Obama’s US ambassador to the United Nations. “Ambassador Rice appreciates the Committee’s efforts to examine Russia’s efforts to interfere, which violated one of the core foundations of American democracy.”

The article, and Susan Rice’s spokesman, claims she met with the Committee as part of the investigation into Russian meddling but did not say anything about the unmasking aspect of the scandal. Is this an effort to downplay what was discussed, and her alleged role in the unmasking scandal, or was this not part of the “discussion?” We don’t know because it was held behind closed doors.
Even if unmasking was not brought up during the meeting it still is serious because the issue of what the Obama administration knew about Russia hacking, when they knew it, and why the did not do anything about it was discussed.
“Well I think we’re interested in any folks that were in the last administration that had some hand in what we did or did not do in response to Russian meddling in our elections,” Burr said in an interview. “I won’t get into when they’re coming or what the extent of the list is, but I think it’s safe to say that we’ve had everybody that was involved in decision-making at the last administration on our list, and they’re periodically coming. Some have been in. Some still have yet to come in.”
Here is what Chairman Richard Burr had to say about the unmasking angle:
Burr did not raise concerns about allegations that Rice improperly unmasked any US individuals, an issue first raised by House intelligence committee Chairman Devin Nunes.
“The unmasking thing was all created by Devin Nunes, and I’ll wait to go through our full evaluation to see if there was anything improper that happened,” Burr said. “But clearly there were individuals unmasked. Some of that became public which it’s not supposed to, and our business is to understand that, and explain it.”
So Richard Burr did not raise concerns about unmasking but that does not necessarily mean that nobody else did. And Richard Burr did say they were looking to see if anything “improper” happened with unmasking members of the Trump campaign, I am fairly certain something improper did happen and hopefully we will find out in the future who was responsible for it. Indications are that former UN Ambassador Samantha Power played a key role in the unmasking scandal.

    They “quietly” met implies “secretly”.
Liar Susan Rice Gives Flimsy Excuse to Senate Intelligence Committee
Her admission? She did unmask Trump Team members.
Her excuse? That she did not leak “nothing to nobody.”
Keep in mind this is the same disgraced liar who falsely blamed Benghazi on a Youtube Video.” from Truth Feed.
And just who is in this ‘intelligence’ group? Why are they considered to be trustworthy and not ‘Deep State’ puppets? For we can figure Rice is “not nice” and will lie, cheat, murder and steal just because it benefits her ~ and maybe those ‘questioning her’ as well.

CJ would probably have more insight into them.
Behind closed doors, for Obama staffer Susan Rice ~ like a replay of that ‘regime’ O Hail transparency!
What good can come out, when sinful man/woman are involved? … May Truth Reign!

This whole thing stinks! Why the need for secrecy? What are the all hiding? This reminds me of Benghazi also because I think the Republicans knew about the arms smuggling all along and are dirty as well. They put on a show investigation over Benghazi and now it appears as if they are doing the same here.
