Donald Trump fires Reince Priebus and hires John Kelly

July 28, 2017

This news does not come as a surprise after what has been going on the last couple of days but a short while ago Donald Trump fired Reince Priebus and replaced him with General John Kelly.

  Here is more:

In a stunning Friday announcement, President Donald Trump announced that he had selected General John Kelly as his new chief of staff, replacing former Republican National Committee (RNC) chief Reince Priebus.

“I am pleased to inform you that I have just named General/Secretary John F Kelly as White House Chief of Staff,” Trump announced on Twitter. “He is a Great American and a Great Leader.”

Kelly earned the respect of the president as the head of his Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as the pair shared a deep respect for the rule of law and order.

“John has also done a spectacular job at Homeland Security,” Trump added on Twitter. “He has been a true star of my Administration.”

“I want to congratulate John Kelly, who has done an incredible job of Secretary of Homeland Security,” Trump said during his speech “Incredible. One of our real stars. Truly one of our stars.”

Here is what Donald Trump had to say about Reince Priebus:

“I would like to thank Reince Priebus for his service and dedication to his country,” Trump wrote. “We accomplished a lot together and I am proud of him!”

He certainly handled that with a little more magnanimity than Anthony Scaramucci…

I have never been a fan of Reince Priebus, I have found him to be a RINO establishment Republican and I thought it was a mistake to make him Chief of Staff in the first place.  After running a campaign against the establishment one of the first things Donald Trump did was to hire an establishment politician, perhaps he thought it would bring some stability and experience to the White House. But now that mistake has been corrected.

Anthony Scaramucci, and others, have been questioning whether or not Reince Priebus was one of the leakers, or the person directing the links. I have no idea if he was or not so I will not speculate on it, if he was it will come out at some point.

Here is hoping that John Kelly will be able to use his organization skills as a general to bring some much needed structure and discipline to the White House after the turmoil that has bubbled over during the last week or so.

Takes a while to determine and see the tares from the wheat!
Saw this and thought it note worthy: In an act of selfless patriotism, Anthony Scaramucci has decided to not take any salary for his new White House position.
“Now, we’re seeing the true colors of the LIARS and charlatans we elected into office. … It’s time for Mitch McConnell to step down as Senate Majority Leader and maybe even quit the Senate completely.”
Out with the “charlatans” and in with the Patriots!

I hadn’t heard Scaramuci wasn’t taking a salary, thanks for that.
Mitch McConnell needs to be replaced as leader, it is an embarrassment that he brought the repeal bill to a vote without having the votes to pass it. He needs to go.

There was no reason that McCain didn’t tell McConnell ahead of time he was going to vote no. McConnell never would have brought the bill to the floor. I am no fan of McConnell but McCain was the biggest fool for this fiasco vote.

That’s true, McConnell thought McCain was on board. There is no doubt in my mind that this was McCain getting some revenge on Trump for his campaign remarks.
