Harry Reid asked Obama’s White House to interfere in Robert Menendez corruption scandal
Democratic Senator Robert Menendez is going on trial next week on corruption charges along with one of his donors, Salomon Melgen. Here is more on that:
Menendez, a New Jersey Democrat, faces a corruption trial next week with Salomon Melgen, a Florida eye doctor and close friend accused of bribing him with hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions and lavish trips in exchange for his help on government disputes.
Now we are learning, from the same story linked above, that back in 2011 reached out to Harry Reid asking him to pressure the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to reverse its ruling that Melgen owed $8.9 million for overbilling Medicare. Harry Reid obliged him by reaching out to Barack Obama’s White House.
Menendez “enlisted” Reid in November 2011 to help pressure the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, known as CMS, to reverse its ruling that Melgen owed $8.9 million for overbilling Medicare. Reid contacted a White House deputy chief of staff, prosecutors said.
“At that time, the Majority Leader reached out to the White House Deputy Chief of Staff, informing her that Menendez was upset about how a Florida ophthalmologist was being treated by CMS and asking that she call the agency,” according to the 30-page filing.
Salomon Melgen and Harry Reid also have ties:
Melgen and Reid had their own relationship. Prosecutors say Melgen gave $600,000 in 2012 to Majority PAC, a political action committee intended to expand the Democratic majority in the Senate. The money was earmarked for Menendez’s electoral race in 2012, prosecutors say. In June 2012, Melgen flew Reid on his company’s private plane from Washington to Boston and back for a Senate Majority PAC event, Politico has reported.
The unnamed White House staffer declined Harry Reid’s request but it certainly looks like Harry Reid was trying to obstruct justice.

As a lifelong NJ resident I can say with 99.99% confidence, since nothing is -99%, Menendez could be re-elected without spending a dime on a campaign. Gov’t entitlements keep his voters in line. Fir 30 years now e has controlled Hudson County second only to Cook County for democrat corruption. With tens if not hundreds of billions in Medicare fraud each year who has it out for Bobby if his Dr. Pal is being bothered for a mere $8 million. Hey, Al the phony Reverend Sharpton has owed +/-$5 million forever and remains untouchable by the IRS. What a load of poop.

The corruption of the political process begins at the local government level. Any local person aspiring to be a politicians learns to go along to get along. It starts with small paybacks and gradually expands to the pol demanding certain remunerations for favors.
The voter I think is complicit in this corruption. Free meals for the police, “Christmas” presents for local pols,

I think when God’s Written Word (Holy Bible) that we live in a fallen world, with a fallen nature and there are devils roaming in the unseen dimension that influence us and even possess some, I think these things are just ‘par for the course’ of the way of the world and the ‘god of the world system’ (2 Cor 4:4). But those who call out to God (for HE IS AND HEARS!) He gives them His Life – which is Eternal: ‘And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins:’ Eph 2:1 And ‘that’s’ why we need to be ‘saved’!
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
So, from ‘someone’ who doesn’t lie that’s a pretty good invitation and bet to chose and trust in!

I like the Gen. 1:2 quote in relation to what is going on. The earth was dark and motionless until the Spirit of God moved on it. He is the light in the darkness and all who seek the truth will find it. The sad part is that nobody seems interested in seeking the Truth any more. 😦
