Donald Trump suggests NBC should have its FCC license revoked

October 11, 2017

Regular readers of America’s Watchtower know how I feel about the mainstream media, and the whole country knows how Donald Trump feels about the mainstream media.

Earlier today NBC reported, in an apparent attempt to shield the Democrats who are now getting caught up in the Harvey Weinsten scandal, that the President wanted to increase America’s nuclear arsenal ten-fold. This was quickly shot down as fake news be Secretary of Defense Mattis. Here is what he tweeted:

He called the story false and irresponsible, but Donald Trump took it another step when he tweeted the following:

This is not the first time Donald Trump has threatened the media: during the campaign he threatened to sue the media for libel if he deemed they were writing “horrible and negative” stories about him, stating “with me they’re not protected.” This is troubling to me. While I am right there with all of you on media bias the fact remains that the Constitution protects the right of the press to be biased. This is what I have written at least twice on this issue:

“The fact that there are media outlets that are conservative and media outlets that are liberal is nothing new; in fact liberals had a stranglehold on most of the media until the repeal of the “Fairness Doctrine” and the birth of Fox News, but there have always been conservative newspapers and liberal newspapers. This goes all the way back to the 1700’s when people like Benjamin Franklin were creating and publishing newspapers while also writing articles for the same newspapers using aliases to promote their own personal political agenda.”

The people have a responsibility to read and research the issues in determination of what is true and what is not and we do not need the government stepping in and telling us what is true and what is not. NBC’s decision to publish fake news without doing the proper fact checking should be their ultimate demise.

If it is shown that NBC’s reporting was blatantly and intentionally false the network should face repercussions, maybe a fine and a public apology, but to take away its license to broadcast? Well, that is a step way too far for me, and reeks of the insidious Alien and Sedition acts of John Adams.

‘Slander n. oral defamation, in which someone tells one or more persons an untruth about another which untruth will harm the reputation of the person defamed. Slander is a civil wrong (tort) and can be the basis for a lawsuit. Malicious intent that damages intended harm.’
They never did that to ‘fraud Obama’ did they. Makes me wonder who much $$$$ they made thru him and what ‘pork’ they gained.
Maybe it’s time to make an example of them and ‘fine’ them? Who’d decide? Who’s without blame or is “impartial” enough to judge? Most of these news agencies are run by ‘deep state’ or ‘Nazi CIa’ (whoever else) so where one leads off the other picks up and fills in.
My brother use to read two newspapers a day, now none ~ all liberal b.s. Gets news online. And that’s where censorship is hitting. The ‘truth’ is dangerous to liars and usurpers … use to be more so when people weren’t so ‘dumbed down’ and chemically altered to ‘comply’!
I wonder if the Pres. could even order FCC to do that? Would they even ‘obey’ or do they have a different ‘leader’?

No doubt they had a vested interesting in covering for Obama and now they have an interest in taking down Trump. I would guess if it ever came down to it they would end up paying a relatively small fine for appearances, but nothing that would really hurt them.

Preying on the naive and socially conditioned should amount to more than a small fine, but tis the world system of the ‘evils that are’ matrix.

I agree but of course we know the networks are only doing what the people behind the veil want them to do so they will never be “punished” harshly.

Knowing publishing false information should be a crime if it is designed to shape or alter public policy/opinion. The media has a duty to serve the public. If it can’t or won’t why should the people sanction such a enterprise. Aren’t others liable for making false claims and representations?

Tell me why the press should be exempt from heavy penalties.

Gee it seems we are reliving the 1890’s

    Yellow journalism,
    * scare headlines in huge print, often of minor news
    * lavish use of pictures, or imaginary drawings
    * use of faked interviews, misleading headlines, pseudoscience, and a parade of false learning from so-called experts
    * emphasis on full-color Sunday supplements, usually with comic strips
    * dramatic sympathy with the “underdog” against the system.

But now it’s the tv and internet

Bravo. Long overdue, that the president put his foot down.
