Nancy Pelosi seeks to calm Trump impeachment talk
With the arrest of Paul Manafort and two others last Monday the impeachment talk has been ramped up again by Democratic voters although these arrests appear to have nothing to do with Russia collusion–at least right now.
Apparently, according to this article, Nancy Pelosi has been working behind the scenes in recent weeks to quell the talk of impeachment because she believes it will be a distraction in the 2018 mid-term election. Here is more:
She told lawmakers at a Democratic leadership meeting soon after that she had reached out to the Democratic megadonor to tell him that his $10 million ad campaign was a distraction. (A source close to Steyer says he hasn’t spoken with Pelosi since the ad launched.)
Pelosi is eager to show her party can govern — in contrast to the chaos surrounding Trump — and believes that a reputation as the “No Drama Democrats” is key to taking back the House in 2018 and whisking her backing into the speaker’s chair.
While not an official slogan, Pelosi has discussed the strategy broadly in recent leadership and caucus meetings, urging members to avoid talk of impeachment and resist taking Trump’s bait on whatever topic is dominating his Twitter feed that day.
The ad mentioned in the first paragraph was about impeachment. Impeachment talk is red meat for Democratic voters. Talk of impeaching Donald Trump is sure to drive Democratic voters to the polls so why would Nancy Pelosi think this could be harmful to the Democrats prospects of taking back the Congress?
The impeachment talk revolves around the Russian collusion investigation and the Russian collusion investigation is based on the mostly debunked Russian dossier. Perhaps Nancy Pelosi realizes the Russian collusion investigation has become a double-edged sword with the news last week that the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign paid for the research which led to the Russian dossier.
It is either a great coincidence that Nancy Pelosi has recently looked to stifle impeachment talk in the wake of this revelation or she is worried about what might come to light if Robert Mueller does not wrap up this investigation quickly.

After Dinner with a dozen or more Dems,… she is wrong. They live and breathe impeachment. It is what makes their world go round and round. Tomorrow I leave for the North. Land of rednecks, apple pie and flag loving Americans. Bye Florida.

Hasn’t grandma figured it out yet? The Rinublicans are so busy cutting their own throats the issues are of little consequence. In spite of Limbaugh and Savage with their Pollyanna beliefs that most Americans are astute enough to know the dems are worthless anti-american porcine offal, that middle america will lead the anti-democrat revolution, it just ain’t so.

Sadly you are right. Too many Americans believe the propaganda they are fed by the MSM on a daily basis.

The “no drama democratics”? You got to be kidding! All they have going for them is drama. They would have nothing if it weren’t for Crying Chucky, crazy Maxine, wo-is-me Hillabeans, the whole SJW movement, and that ass-hat from Florida.

This will show ‘where’ Pelosi is coming from … but then again maybe not it’s pretty difficult to understand or follow her ‘train?’ of thought. hmmm.

How fitting that a potential stroke patient leads a major political party. Her condition pales when compared to what ails leaders of the other side like McCain, Graham, Flake et al.

Thanks for sharing this. I have no doubt Pelosi is losing her faculties. Whether or not this is a precursor to stroke or not I do not know but I know she is showing signs of her age and cannot be trusted to carry out her duties.
