Jeff Sessions orders investigation into Barack Obama’s Hezbollah drug trafficking scandal

December 23, 2017

An under-reported story from last week was the report that Barack Obama allowed Hezbollah to continue trafficking weapons and cocaine in order to secure the Iran nuclear deal, knowing that some of the cocaine was coming into the United States. You can read more about that story here.

We finally have a Jeff Sessions sighting, it is being reported here that he has ordered the Department of Injustice to investigate this alleged scandal. Here is more:

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has ordered the Justice Department to dig into allegations in a POLITICO report that a series of potential drug prosecutions related to the pro-Iranian militant group Hezbollah were abandoned as the Obama administration pressed to strike a deal with Iran over its nuclear program.

Sessions indicated that he was troubled by allegations that Project Cassandra — the Drug Enforcement Administration’s drive to target Hezbollah’s foray into drug trafficking — ran into high-level roadblocks that stymied many of the cases agents wanted to bring as well as efforts to get suspects extradited from overseas to the U.S.

“Operations designed to investigate and prosecute terrorist organizations that are also fueling that drug crisis must be paramount in this administration,” Sessions said in a statement released to reporters Friday evening. “While I am hopeful that there were no barriers constructed by the last administration to allowing DEA agents to fully bring all appropriate cases under Project Cassandra, this is a significant issue for the protection of Americans. We will review these matters and give full support to investigations of violent drug trafficking organizations.”

Here is what Senator Ben Sasse had to say:

“I’m encouraged that the Justice Department recognizes that this is important and I hope that they will swiftly provide answers,” he said in a statement. “Terrorists don’t get a pass to exploit drug addiction here at home and use American dollars to fund their global violence.”

If these allegations are true this is a major scandal and hopefully we will get some answers.

“The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine.”

Following the news, bit by bit, Trump is tearing down the shadow government. We’ve got at least two solid investigations into the FBI, the “Russian Interference” looks like it’s going to blow back on Hillary and now this piece going after Holder and Obama, plus God knows how many of their functionaries as well.

I know that it’s a long way from finished, but I’m astounded that Trump has gotten this far.

It will be fun to see what the Liberals have to say as the evidence publicly mounts. Is anyone here, besides me, old enough to remember how Watergate unfolded? It was a two year soap opera.

Have I died and gone to Heaven?

I am not old enough to remember Watergate but I think you are right and we are beginning to see exactly how corrupt the system really is. This goes deeper than we thought and Trump does appear to be making some headway.

The Nixon supporters of the time were screaming blue murder, denying facts and and twisting legal logic to make Nixon innocent. Some of them still think Watergate was a made up hatchet job. Editorials and news articles were all over the place as emotions ran high. At that point in the Viet Nam era, the two sides of America had already declared war on each other and Nixon getting caught with Watergate really amped it up.

Many other people kept a score card with pictures of Nixon and his cohorts. We would mark them off as each one was indicted or convicted of various crimes. V.P. Agnew was convicted of tax fraud (a small, petty man) and when Attorney General John Mitchell went to prison there was much celebration.

Many were disappointed that Nixon was never formally impeached and later pardoned by President Ford.

Looking back, I can see the necessity of the pardon, but it cost Ford re election, giving us Jimmy Carter. Too bad really, Ford was a decent guy and actually one of our better Presidents.

Here’s a sample of one of the posters:

The whole Watergate story is a real jaw dropper. It began with a penny ante break in at the Watergate Hotel to plant taps on the DNC’s telephones.

Very few people were convicted of the break in itself – most of the worst convictions were related to the following cover up. Those convictions included Attorney General John Mitchell. I’m not sure, but he may be the only U.S. Attorney General to be convicted of 3 felonies and sentenced to prison.

One part that has always astounded me is that ANYONE on the Republican side that year, let alone Nixon himself, would have done any of it. Nixon was very popular and had solid support from coast-to-coast.

For a useful overview, run these 4 names through Wikipedia:

        John Mitchell (former Attorney General)
John Dean (former Counsel to the President)
        H.R. “Bob” Haldeman
        John Erlichman

There are a total of 20 names on that “wanted poster” I put up. Researching any of them would be “interesting”.

For a bonus, do a search on “18 minute gap”. I recommend the New York Post article written in 2014.

In response to Dr Jeff’s last reply: You are absolutely correct regarding Nixon’s popularity. Other than suffering a stroke or dying there was only one other way he would have not won the 72′ election; and he found it. That Watergate break in was almost as dumb as and definitely unnecessary as the voters electing a sexually confused cigarette smoking basketball playing mulatto Muslim golfer twice. If we don’t laugh we’ll have to cry.

We don’t need to know ‘all’ that he and they have ~ waste of good time, just prosecute him and them and “stop them” from doing any more damage. Get them off the scene, off the playing field and out of the picture. Having liars and insane people in leadership roles for generations makes people crazy! We see that more today. Its going to take a while for Truth and Hope to clean people off, inside and out. But by God’s Grace may that be!
Reminds me of Mose up on the Mt. talking w/ God and the group below dancing around the golden calf, nude and nutty. Its easy to be stupid and not care, fulling the lust of a warped heart and soul, but people feel better about themselves when they know they’re being better rather than 💩. Flush out the waste, clean up and keep back to real Living!

oops “get” back to Real Living!
This is kind-of corny but the point’s clear. Living w/ Hope and Heart!

Stopping them from doing more damage would be a great start indeed! The corruption is deeper than we thought and it will take many years to clean it all up but at least it looks like it is beginning to happen.

Watergate, I remember it well. Those not old enough to have lived through it try to understand that the nation was torn apart as a consequence of a botched petty larceny. The ensuing vestigatiin was also the breeding ground for what was to become Pant Suit Ladies assault on America. It did take two years for this debacle, this non-issue in my book to reach a crescendo. The anti-Nixonites on a do or die mission were bulldogs and bloodhounds on the scent. I for one cannot believe the invisible under employed Sessions will get anywhere with this. Cocaine smuggling and arms dealing, really. There is enough white powder entering the country on daily basis if dumped in Lake St Clair we would have a land bridge betwee Michigan and Canada. And as for investigating illegal arms, is this a joke? The gang almost untouchable gangs in our own country have enough hardware to supply the
Military of any industrialized nation. Yeah, Obama will be prosecuted once Eric Holder, serving time for gun running. is released from the prison on Alcatraz Island. Next….
