Sunday, January 28th open thread: ‘Lullaby’

January 28, 2018

open-thread  Here is the open thread for Sunday, January 28th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

Last week we discussed 6 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.

In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.

The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower.

It has been awhile since a shared anything from my favorite band so here is The Cure performing “Lullaby” live from 1990.

This video should be watched by everyone who wonders about letting Muslims immigrate the US. The women is an Iranian American who escaped the country. She talks about the Quran and its teachings on women. I don’t know how the left can continue to lie by Islam. Muslims are bring these cultural belief into Europe and the US. The Quran is their ultimate authority. This totally incompatible with Western democracy.

Thanks for sharing this, I will check it out but it is interesting how the Democrats claim to be for gay rights and women’s rights and at the same time say we cannot judge Islam for its anti-gay and anti-woman perspectives.

There are many man-made and devil inspired religions that are anti-humans free will … anti-God. Political and Religious evils seem to be the worst.
Ideology – idol worship in some perverted form.
There’s not one God approved religion on the face of the earth today. Even what He gave to the Jew’s was fouled up.
Today its just “Believe” in Him,His Word and Spirit. Simple.
This gal speaks of the “infestation” and that ALWAYS points to our adversary – anti-Life-Love & Liberty serpent.

I wonder if many of these religions are designed to take focus from God and put it into the government–making the government the highest power.

On this open topic Sunday I have a question for the people on this site with those special grammar skills. This week is a super blue blood moon, or is it a blood blue super moon? All are adjectives for the noon, but not of each other. What do you do when the three occur at the same time? Should it really be a blue moon, a super moon, and a blood moon that are happening at the same time? Not as sexy, but what is correct?

“Nowadays, Blue Moon has popularly come to mean “the second full Moon in the same calendar month.” This is the case with the January 31 full Moon.”

Thank you, I don’t think I ever heard the original. Now it needs to be modified to “Blue moon, super moon, blood moon, you saw me standing alone…..”

Thanks for sharing this, I hadn’t heard this version either. But what happens when the blue, super, blood moon falls on a Monday?

Thanks hadn’t heard that one before! Interesting electronic effects. Isn’t “music” something … with just a limited number of notes all that can come from them.
This song style reminds me of my college days and the physic friends I sometimes hung out with, if that tells you anything 😊 (Lobster Rock). 🎼

And this is how the physic kids danced to … kind-of. What a funny group they were! 👍🏼 Nice of them to let me join in at times. Their fav movies: How I learned to Love the Bomb [Dr. Strangelove] & Blade Runner (figures, right!:)
I bet different interest of subjects can be associated with particular favored music!

You & Lauri and do a little dancing to this one I bet! Tell her to ‘do’ her hair up, you get on your stripped slacks and ‘dance on’!!😊

Lauri and I did see the B-52s once and it was a fun concert. Lauri still thinks it was one of her favorite shows. Lauri could tease her hair up back in the day!

One Big FACTOR the media, politicians and populous tend to “forget” … The GOD FACTOR!
This is encouraging for those who are Pro America, Pro godly values, moral and ethics … all those things (Qualities of LIFE) that the devil and his minions try to destroy and distort (bring to ruin).

God’s TRUTH brings Righteousness to RECLAIM & RESTORE that which has been lost … stolen by our adversary … the same one who beguiled Eve way back when …”And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
But, he lied … mankind still wants to be as the ‘angels’ … be as gods, while death lures around the corner.

Btw Steve, the music was a bit more mellow. The singer looks like he needs some LIGHT in his life. 🎉 Fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

The Cure are known for their dark, brooding, depressing musical style and lyrics but they did have some upbeat pop songs like Just Like Heaven, Friday I’m in Love, Lovecats, and The Walk. Some of these borderline as playful. They are known as the godfathers of “goth rock.” Robert Smith is an atheist but in “Truth, Goodness, and Beauty” he seems to be looking for what he is missing and I hope someday he finds it. On a side note, he has been married to his highschool sweetheart since 1989.

Interesting. Yes, I bet he’d love to know who gave him his singing voice and ability to do these songs. Also, his realizing his lackings can be used for that “Humpty Dumpy moment”, when cracking (acknowledging one’s frailties and lackings), the outcome is the very thing needed that allows for the seed of Love, Truth and Joy to enter, grow and make beauty from ruin … regeneration of a dead spirit into one quickened, bursting with LIFE ~ a new creature, a new man rich in those qualities of being the soul longs for, that eternal worth our Loving Creator intended all along.
Glad he and his wife have continued to stay together! Thanks for that info!
