Sunday, February 11th open thread: ‘Night Shift’

February 11, 2018

open-threadHere is the open thread for Sunday, February 11th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

Last week we discussed 7 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.

In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.

The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower.

Here is Siouxsie and the Banshees performing “Night Shift” live in 1983. If you look closely you will see Robert Smith of The Cure filling in on guitar as he did often back in those days.

I think these two items paint a very clear picture of what we are up against. It more than just the top level managers who are corrupt it’s the whole system. The bureaucracy needs to be broken apart and reorganized.

Very interesting video on the history of the deep state and civil service, thank you so much for sharing this! Thanks for the Breitbart link as well, it confirms what many of us have been thinking.

A most interesting time. Too much of my life was working on, night shifts, when I should have been home, abed. Rotating tours, 00:00×08:00, then the next week 16:00×24:00, and the following week 08:00×16:00. It causes people to disconnect with their otherwise normal world. You seek sleep, but it is never restful. My face still shows it.
If the night shift, is on a weekend, you will be busy if you are a cop. If the night shift is at anytime other than dead of winter and icy cold, you will need to observe people. Icy cold, there will be no people on the streets, and those who are, stand out. Some are harmless. Some are criminals. Some are victims on the hoof.
Night shift, as we said, was 99% boredom and 1% sheer terror. Vehicle accidents are at higher speeds, and the carnage more severe. Arguments are more heated, and assaults more violent. Fires are bigger, and people panic in the middle of the night awakened from their sleep and disoriented. Their belongings lost. Confusion. Fire apparatus loudly pumping. Red lights and loud radio chatter over the truck’s public address speaker. People shouting. Some shouting names, and you must pay attention to that. Where is the person who is being called? Some shout names of pets missing. People are distraught. Once, a woman was shouting for her cat, and by the looks of things, if the cat was inside that building, there was no hope for it. A homeless addict walked up to me, inside of her coat, there was a yearling cat, purring. The woman asked if this was the cat, it was running down the street and stopped by her. We went to the woman who owned the cat and they were reunited. The homeless woman was not rewarded other than a thank you, and quickly vanished into the night. Weather in time started to warm up, and that meant St. Patrick’s day would be nearing. We called it “Amateur’s Night”, because of the alcohol related problems that would be presenting itself. As usual, we were not disappointed. A couple of nights later, nearing 4 a.m., a 911 call of a body discovered. I was maybe the third car in. The body, a woman. Everyone knew her, a homeless woman, the one with the cat. Her face, bloodied. Blood over a large area of sidewalk pavement indicating a protracted fight. The corpse did not appear to have any sign of sexual attack. Detectives took over. Almost a month went by. A cop was in the station house, having a container of coffee, waiting for Roll Call. He asked if I remembered the DOA (Dead On Arrival) that was found, and I said, yes. He tells me that the detectives made an arrest. An informant, a street person, looking to get off on a petty larceny charge, gave up the guy. Another street character. He was walking down the street as he told detectives after being brought in, and in the narrative, the homeless woman was attacked as a robbery, for one dollar and some bit of food in her pocket. I was unphased. We got through Roll Call, and headed out, into another night, and it was beautiful. I thought of my wife, and looked at the streets. Central was calling with a job. A typical night shift.

Thanks for sharing this story. What a difference one night can bring compared to another. One night you are returning a cat and the next you are discovering a dead body, but always there seems to be the unknown you are walking all around concerned about what could happen next.

Thanks Brit for sharing w/ us a brief look into ‘that world’ you lived.
I think it takes a ‘particular kind’ of person to do that job “well” and you fit the bill.
Sometimes you probably didn’t ‘think or feel’ you did, and other day’s wished you “didn’t make the grade” but you held the line! as well as you could.
‘We can only do what we can do … and sometimes a power greater than ourselves comes over us to go beyond our possible!’
      Thanks for your service!
      > This thought came to me this morning:
What being “PC” really means = believing the liars and living like the devil.
I’m sure you met that kind inside the force and displayed outside on the streets & byways as well.

Thanks, Zip. A lot of people think I was something kind of special for doing the job, but personally, I live each and every day with the feeling of abject failure. I don’t talk to people aside from the keyboard. I have one friend who telephones every now and then. Other than that unless someone is looking for money, nobody calls, and that’s the way I like it. In fact, I never spoke of my job to my wife or she would become a nervous wreck. I forbade discussion of my job at home. So, I guess I carry scars and baggage because I couldn’t do everything that I wanted to do, and couldn’t help people the way that I wanted to help them. When I used to get angry at work, I used to physically drag people down flights of stairs, and at times, kick in doors. Why? It kept the predators in check. They knew that I was a bigger and badder predator and I defended the helpless. But the Job, changed and became political, and politically correct. I was a knuckle dragger.
        Take Care, Zip.

        I understand.
haha about the knuckle draggers. Truth is those w/ the ‘tainted immoral & twisted view’ of reality are the very ones who ‘are’.
Many ‘weeds, thorns and goat heads’ in this world. God knows it’ll take His Son returning to clear the deck (the blood will be up to the horses bridles … I can see why and I have ‘limited’ sight & knowing!).
God’s Best to you and your Brit! Shine your shoes for your next ice cream social! 😊

Don’t be so hard on yourself Brittius, instead of focusing on the things you were not able to do think about they things you were able to do. You most likely did more than most.
I am glad I am able to provide you with a forum as an outlet of sorts.

I agree w/ Steve Brit about the ‘service’ you provided, and much of it you might not even realize the ‘good’ that came from it, but it put a “plus” in someone’s life.
Good for you and your wife for your 45th Anniversary!! Glad the ‘kids’ will be there to help celebrate! And neat you appreciate them as you do that Love goes a long way! Like “filling” the gas tank for the long haul! 👍🏼😊

I hadn’t heard this particular video but I did hear much of what was said in this. These people have two missions, one designed to camouflage the other. An esoteric and and exoteric. mission.

And people wonder why the world and things are so ‘crazy, messed up and wrong.’

Well, that was certainly interesting! We like to think the internet is still free and open but the sad truth is it is not.

The parable about the Wheat & Tares (how the enemy snuck in at night and planted tare seeds in the world -field) and the sheep and goats. The goats serve the ‘goat head god’ and are in positions of ‘power’! Both of them are similar & manifested in the ‘deep 💩state cabal’ who runs google, etc. So, keeping people in the dark is their MO manipulative tool to keep ruling position and power.
That’s a prayer to God for His Spirit help to ‘purge & cleanse’ them away ~ be a Nation ‘under God’ and not the devil.
Just as He confounded the languages to stop the building of the ‘Tower of Babel’ so might He do something in our here and now! Amen!

I probably shouldn’t have said the internet is not free, but rather many of the sites are hiding the truth. There are still some out there writing about it by search engines like Google are doing their best to suppress it.
