Secret cabal in the White House seeks to thwart Donald Trump

September 5, 2018

The New York Times printed an anonymous op-ed piece today from a person who claims to be in the Trump administration and who claims there are people in the White House actively working to thwart parts of the President’s agenda.

Donald Trump is taking this news as fact and so even though it is from an anonymous source we will treat it as fact here are well. Here is more:

The dilemma — which he does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.

I would know. I am one of them.

My first reaction was that the New York Times was trying to make a mountain out of a molehill–so the President has not simply aligned himself with yes men, there is nothing wrong with a little debate from within an administration on the issues. But this person makes it look like more than that because he or she claims they are working behind the scenes to stop him.

  Here is more still:

To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous.

But we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic.

That is why many Trump appointees have vowed to do what we can to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr. Trump’s more misguided impulses until he is out of office.

The root of the problem is the president’s amorality. Anyone who works with him knows he is not moored to any discernible first principles that guide his decision making.

Although he was elected as a Republican, the president shows little affinity for ideals long espoused by conservatives: free minds, free markets and free people. At best, he has invoked these ideals in scripted settings. At worst, he has attacked them outright.

In addition to his mass-marketing of the notion that the press is the “enemy of the people,” President Trump’s impulses are generally anti-trade and anti-democratic.

Don’t get me wrong. There are bright spots that the near-ceaseless negative coverage of the administration fails to capture: effective deregulation, historic tax reform, a more robust military and more.

But these successes have come despite — not because of — the president’s leadership style, which is impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective.

There is more but I think you get the gist of it. These people are not part of the so-called leftist Resistance movement but rather appear to hold onto more traditional conservative values, values they do not believe the President consistently holds. In other words they are Washington insiders who are upset when the status quo is shaken up and you can tell this by what they consider to be victories (while failing to give the President credit for the victories) and what they consider to be “misguided impulses.”

Here is what really bothers me about this story, again assuming it is true; why did the author feel the need to say anything? I cannot figure that out, wouldn’t it be better for this cabal if it was kept quiet? What is gained by telling the public (and the President) that this is going on, other than feeding the egos of the people involved? If it was simply ego it could lead to their fall.

malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium

Seems too conveniently tied to Woodward’s book to not be related to that. He was losing credibility. Would be interesting to know his book sales the & now.

That is an interesting theory. I didn’t make that connection but I would not be surprised if they are related.

Where is Sessions? Find the so and so …… and nail him. Oh wait…. in the mean time I would give the whole darn bunch a lie detector test… check out the phone calls, you know the NSA database has everything. Top to bottom clean them out.

I would think they would be able to find these people with an honest effort but as far as Sessions goes I wouldn’t doubt that he is part of it.

For the longest time I held out hope for Sessions. But it seems clear now that, from the onset, he was a key cog in the Rino’s Deep State wheel. I think Trump has accomplished so much he’s finally made Sessions irrelevant. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s ousted before midterms.

Sessions is such a disappointment! I don’t think he will last Trump’s full term but I think he will wait until after the midterms so he doesn’t give the Dems any fuel.

It would seem clearly a serious consideration that Sessions, once a solid conservative, is the n___er in the woodpile who may have been bought off ala McCain. If so then once again Soros is getting a Big Bang for the buck.

There is no doubt in my mind Sessions is part of the deep state!

Bookies are leaning to Pence… now that would be a heart breaker.

I find it hard to believe it would be Pence but at the same time I would not be all that surprised if it is at this point.

With Woodward having traded in whatever journalistic integrity he may have had and becoming a hit man for the left anyone buying his latest yellow trash should wipe their ass with it while All The President ‘s Men was a captivating and topical read back then. How far this phony has fallen.

The old war horses need to ride off into the sunset. Clapper, Brennan, et al…their time has long gone…Same with Woodward and Bernstein, once more trying to be relevant. Sorry guys, these dogs won’t hunt.
