Jared Kushner wants to create what some people are calling the “PATRIOT Act for healthcare” to deal with the COVID-19 outbreak. This would be a surveillance system used to track people with the disease under the guise of trying to optimize how the government uses its resources, but sounds more like yet another domestic spying program and governmental intrusion on our right to privacy.

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner’s task force has reached out to a range of health technology companies about creating a national coronavirus surveillance system to give the government a near real-time view of where patients are seeking treatment and for what, and whether hospitals can accommodate them, according to four people with knowledge of the discussions.
The proposed national network could help determine which areas of the country can safely relax social-distancing rules and which should remain vigilant. But it would also represent a significant expansion of government use of individual patient data, forcing a new reckoning over privacy limits amid a national crisis.
But the prospect of compiling a national database of potentially sensitive health information has prompted concerns about its impact on civil liberties well after the coronavirus threat recedes, with some critics comparing it to the Patriot Act enacted after the 9/11 attacks.
Already, the Trump administration has sought to ease data-sharing rules and assure health data companies they won’t be penalized for sharing information with state and federal officials — a move driven in part by Kushner’s push to assemble the national network, according to an individual with knowledge of the decision.
Donald Trump, who was always a New York liberal before he decided to run for President, is showing his true big government colors with this move and it is totally unacceptable! Our health is supposed to be our own private business between us and our doctors and I am getting sick and tired of these elitists using crises like this to further intrude on our right to privacy.
This national database of sorts would be in addition to the already disturbing news that the CDC is tracking millions of Americans through the advertisers on their cellphones. The American people are showing the government just how willing they are to give up their liberty for perceived security and frankly I am shocked at how weak-willed the American people have become. It can only get worse from here if we do not wake up soon…

Where in the world did this nonsense come from? I am really sick of his kiddies pushing on Trump for this liberal nonsense.. For the most part Trump holds firm but this son-in-law is way too much.

In 2008 he donated to the campaign for Hillary Clinton and his newspaper the New York Observer endorsed Barack Obama over John McCain in the US presidential election.[54]
