Is the Democratic party going to replace Joe Biden at the convention?

April 25, 2020

For the sake of this post we have to assume two things; first, that the party conventions are still going to happen and second, that there is still going to be a free election in November…or ever again for that matter. On those assumptions here we go.

The Democratic party is hoping we will not see a repeat of the 2016 election when disgruntled Bernie Sanders supporters stayed home en masse rather than vote for Hillary Clinton after the party rigged the process to give her the nomination. This year the circumstances were a little different but there is enough evidence for Bernie Sanders supporters to come to the conclusion that the system was again rigged against their candidate. It was…

However we are seeing indications which show disgruntled supporters of the Democratic Socialist are not giving up the fight to get their candidate the nomination even though he has already dropped out of the race.

They are hoping, and they believe, there is still a chance that the Democratic Party will replace Joe Biden as the nominee at the convention and it could all hinge on the sexual assault allegations which have been levied against the former Vice-President.

  Here is more:

While the mainstream media has mostly kept a lid on this story, the sexual assault allegations by Tara Reade against presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden aren’t going away soon. As PJM’s Rick Moran reported earlier this week, the D.C. police are treating the allegations as an “active and ongoing” investigation.

Briahna Joy Gray, Bernie Sanders’ former campaign press secretary, who has been a vocal critic of Biden, suggested in an interview with The Atlantic that the allegations might just thwart Biden’s nomination at the Democratic National Convention.

Gray told Emma Green that the Democratic primary is far from over. “The Democratic Party would like us to believe [we’re now in the general election season], and they behaved that way even before Bernie Sanders dropped out of the race. But we are, in fact, still in a Democratic-primary season. Biden is only the presumptive nominee,” she said, before adding, “And there’s all kinds of whispers and rumors about whether or not something might happen at the convention, which might mean Joe Biden isn’t even the nominee.”

“There’s a lot of reasons why Democrats might want to substitute a different person for Joe Biden as the nominee,” said Gray. “The Tara Reade allegation has been handled abysmally by the press. If anyone looks at this closely, then they will see reason for concern.”

Briahna Joy Gray is a former press secretary for Bernie Sanders so we do not know if there truly are rumors or if these are the hopeful rumblings of the former candidate’s supporters. Either way, this could be a troubling sign for the Democrats if and when they do head into the convention.

It does send out the signal that Bernie Sanders supporters are not quite ready to give up the fight just yet and, as the article I linked to above states, these people have a vested interest in keeping the Joe Biden sexual assault story alive. If Bernie Sanders and/or his people can keep the story in the press, despite the press and the Democratic leaders attempts at suppressing it, it could pose a real problem for Joe Biden.

Would they be willing enough to do so much damage to Joe Biden in an attempt to get their guy the nomination that when their bid fails the former Vice-President will no longer be a viable candidate?  Honestly, I do not think they think that far into the future and I also do not think they care who wins the Presidency of it is not going to be the Vermont Socialist and they proved the later when they stayed home the last time around.

No, Biden will be on the ticket in November. The sexual assault allegations will subside and attention should be focused on his choice, well the party’s choice, for VP candidate. To have a successful elimination of Biden from the ticket would open too many doors of rancor and a demand for Bernie who has not a prayer of winning. The stigma from Biden being dumped along with the circus show that would start immediately following would destroy the democrat’s chances of holding the house. This is what this fall election is all about. The Dems keeping the house.

Trump has weathered every assault upon him from before his taking office to the present including the current hysteria over Covid19. He has played the Dems like a Stradivarius and they realize that unless Trump takes himself out with some unexplainable act of stupidity he is the presumptive president for the next term. The house is the only thing they can fight for and possibly keep. They need a harmonious ticket with a VP that is charismatic who can draw for local elections to try to re-elect enough dem reps to succeed. Look for a non controversial candidate (Sorry Buttgiggles) who may be despised nationally but can hold present democrat votes in contested districts.

I think your right Glenda, but go a step further. The Dem Governors kill the economy (Trumps strongest card) by staying closed. Biden gets a magic VP. After a year or so in office, Joe says the Doctors say he can’t continue and resigns giving the magic VP 3 or more years as President.

If, and this is a huge if, Biden manages to win, I doubt he will functionally serve a day in office. A stroke; heart attack; kidney problems; the list for an 80 year old is endless and while I would think for the sake of looking responsible he would be sworn in, thereby ensuring his legacy as being ‘president’ if only for a day or three.

It will be very telling who gets the nod for VP. If it is a no one. The dems expect to lose and are saving viable candidates for a winnable campaign. If it is a up an comer or a ‘official emeritus’ of the party then things will be entirely different.

I doubt it will be Hillary. Her negatives are so high and that would serve to drive out more Trump voters. No, it would be someone that does not inspire that knee jerk reaction.

The issue of the campaign will not be Trump despite the democrats best efforts. It will be the recovery and the good things that come from it. Holding back states like NY and NJ and others will only serve to empower Trump who will by September be trumpeting the rebirth of the economy in those states that have gotten back to work. NY, NJ etc will be the hell holes of Calcutta in comparison and trust me when I say, those people who have lost their life savings and equity and businesses will not be happy with their governors regardless of their party affiliation.

The Kung Flu will return in the fall, not as bad and will garner little attention from the political class or the press. If Trump is re-elected they will be on to bash Trump 2.0 and screaming about voter fraud.

Yes Glenda, Biden, if elected might serve less time than William Harrison. And yes, the magic VP would need to be the right gender, right color, right story, right (left) politics. I disagree that the media wouldn’t be able to smear Trump with the economic downturn. Cuomo on the east, and pretty boy, smarmey Gov Hair here on the left coast. Oblabla was able to stick the Great Recession on Bush, even though Oblabla did nothing to improve things. What he had was the media. Trump will always have the medias HATE.

I think it is quite possible something like that happens!

I think you are right and this is nothing but hopefulness on the part of the Bernie supporters but I do like spreading the discontent. Maybe it will make more Bernie supporters mad enough to stay away from the polls.

Since the Dems have a logic ‘all their own’ (like mischievous 2 yr olds thinking themselves ‘all knowing’ gods) they have many great and wondrous plans by which to ‘down us’ and ‘up them’ – while using Joe as a “place holder.”
Like u state Bernie follows aren’t will to give up the fight – but if we to ask them “What are you fighting for?” would they really have a sound answer?
The “Best” scenario would be that they’re all “Indicted” – shown / proven to be traitors (who are just puppets of the spirit of Nimrod globalist), and GITMO’ed, much of this would be null and void! Laws and Regulation ‘this enemy’ put in place removed.
Those who are totally ‘deranged’ by their ‘teachings’ (doctrines of devils), they would just have to be ‘RESET’ to Truth instead of the Lie Program. God’s Speed! 😊

Calling Biden a “placeholder” is a great term, that is exactly what he is. He will just be keeping the seat warm for whomever his VP pick is.

Don’t rule out Hillary. Yes, Bernie got shafted again. Yes Biden could be a place holder for a Magic VP.

More likely the Dems know what a pile of losers they have and will put forward someone with major national and international stature, not to mention better connections than John Gotti. That comes down to Hillary Clinton, the Hildebeast herself.

The one thing that actually worries me is that Trump seems to be showing the strain of the constant attacks. He’s as tough as a $2 steak, but after the last three years, he’s showing the strain and making mistakes he wouldn’t normally make. If Trump makes enough mistakes, he can be beaten. The election is his to lose and he will lose if he doesn’t take a minute to regroup.

I have not ruled her out but I wonder if the Dems feel she is too toxic at this point.

I think you are right about Trump as well and I think that is why he has stopped the daily briefings. All they do is hammer him at the briefings every day and he has had enough.

Scary thought on Biden’s VP….what if he picks Bernie????

That would bring maximum enthusiasm for the ticket and would create the mystery second VP when Biden steps aside, Bernie would pick one and that would be the president before end of the 4 years.

This is assuming also that if they were to win the presidency they would have the house and possibly the senate as well. Then again if all this happened we might be in CWII by then.

That is a scary thought! Biden has committed to nominating a woman as VP so I don’t think he can go back on that now but maybe that is where Hillary comes in when Joe steps aside.

Hildebeast seems a stretch. She too is running out of gas. I see her doing worse on the campaign trail than she did the first time.
But I think you’re right about Trump. You can only take that type of beating for so long, and yes, he is making mistakes. One thing that is for sure is that impeachment will be started the day after the election if he is reelected.

I hope you are right about Hillary and we have seen the last of her but she just cannot stay away. I believe she is too toxic to be a pick but she is still royalty in the party so she can be used to rally the troops.
