Supreme Court will not intervene for Nevada church fighting COVID regulations

July 25, 2020

The State of Nevada has limited church gatherings to 50 people or less due to the COVID-19 pandemic–allegedly–and at least one church in the State was fighting against the restrictions because at the same time Nevada is allowing larger crowds to gather at casinos and restaurants. It seems hypocritical and agenda-driven to allow casinos and restaurants to operate without the same restrictions in place simply because they bring money into the State, but unfortunately the Supreme Court does not feel the same way.

  Here is more:

The high court announced the 5-4 decision against Calvary Chapel Dayton Valley, with Chief Justice John Roberts once again joining the liberal judges.

The church had argued the cap was an unfair attack on its First Amendment rights to free exercise of religion. It pointed out that the state allowed higher caps for restaurants and casinos — 50 percent capacity — but would not let its 90-person congregation assemble, even with social distancing protocols. A federal court upheld the state’s policy, and the church sought an appeal last month at the 9th Circuit.

The Supreme Court’s decision was issued without comment.

This is not unexpected because back in May the Supreme Court ruled in favor of California’s draconian clampdown against the freedom of religion. In both of these cases the churches just wanted to be able to follow the same social conditioning guidelines put in place by their respective States which govern other businesses, and in both cases they were denied by a Supreme Court which currently holds a 5-4 liberal majority.

Now is the time for Americans to screw up their courage and face the monsters head on. Take away our religious freedoms, our right to associate, our rights to gather peacefully. Resist them, by force if necessary. As for the courts, they have always been contrary to the American spirit and the Republic, they are accountable to no one, are elected by no one, and they do not have to justify their capricious and nonsensical decisions.

The judiciary are the first who must water the tree of liberty.

It amazes me how much the American people have let The State do to us during this so-called crisis and it is also amazing to me how many people are so brainwashed that they have actually turned against the people who are trying to speak up for their rights.

Something happens to 90% of the representatives and congress people we send to DC…not sure, it must be the water. At what point do they forget what it was that got them voted into office. I really believe that there should be a total limit of years they can hold office, no pension and they are gone. We might be sorry for a few good ones, but this might take care of the other rabble. This crap of 40 and 50 years in DC has to be stopped. The career politicians at that point of done nothing but made them selves millionaires off of us and have decided they are in control. Didn’t think that was the way things were laid out, but guess I am wrong????? I thought we were the ones in control!

I think it is a combination of things. The love of money gets some, the love of money gets others, and the feeling of being someone important gets more. And then I believe when they get there they are taken aside and it is made clear to them how things work down there and they are given the old offer then cannot refuse…

What you said, Steve, about being pulled aside is spot on! It’s the “good old boys club”, they have made the big time! I believe, even 1 term in office they will get a pension? Not sure where I read that. Maybe they will continue with their Cadillac insurance, as well. Maybe all of us here got into the wrong careers! Are there any other jobs that you know about with so little effort and hours that have those benefits?

There are a lot of movies from years ago that seem pretty fitting! How many years ago did I try to get you to watch Doctor Zhivago? 3 or 4?
