Andrew Cuomo vastly under-reported COVID-19 nursing home deaths
Andrew Cuomo’s disastrous nursing home Executive Order which forced nursing homes to take patients with COVID-19 has been blamed for almost 7,000 deaths, but if this story is true the Governor of New York has vastly under-reported just how deadly his edict was.
New York’s coronavirus death toll in nursing homes, already among the highest in the nation, could actually be a significant undercount. Unlike every other state with major outbreaks, New York only counts residents who died on nursing home property and not those who were transported to hospitals and died there.
That statistic could add thousands to the state’s official care home death toll of just over 6,600. But so far the administration of Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo has refused to divulge the number, leading to speculation the state is manipulating the figures to make it appear it is doing a better than other states and to make a tragic situation less dire.
How big a difference could it make? Since May, federal regulators have required nursing homes to submit data on coronavirus deaths each week, whether or not residents died in the facility or at a hospital. Because the requirement came after the height of New York’s outbreak, the available data is relatively small. According to the federal data, roughly a fifth of the state’s homes reported resident deaths from early June to mid July — a tally of 323 dead, 65 percent higher than the state’s count of 195 during that time period.
Even if half that undercount had held true from the start of the pandemic, that would translate into thousands more nursing home resident deaths than the state has acknowledged.
Even some Democrats in New York are saying something is not right:
“That’s a problem, bro,” state Sen. Gustavo Rivera, a Democrat, told New York Health Commissioner Howard Zucker during a legislative hearing on nursing homes earlier this month. “It seems, sir, that in this case you are choosing to define it differently so that you can look better.”
Despite the fact that Andrew Cuomo investigated and cleared himself some New York Democrats have been demanding an independent investigation into this deadly decision and now with this news I do not see how an investigation cannot take place.

Unfortunately New York is not alone. It is the same in PA. They have changed the way they count several times to obfuscate the numbers. Worse, many of the nursing home patients were never treated at all but left to die alone in the nursing homes without anyone. There were plenty of beds available in New York, and we can only hope the truth will come out.

I hadn’t heard that Bunkerville, I guess that just shows us the cover up has worked. At least until this point, like you said we can only hope that we will eventually learn the truth. It seems like slowly but surely it is starting to get out there.

Bunker, at this point do you think they will ever know for sure what the real death count is? I mean dying “from” the virus not dying “with” the virus…then factor in other underlying conditions! I really doubt that we will ever know. I think the Fauci/Birx fiasco has been a mess. I know the President had to have people come out and give their expert opinion, but Fauci got out of hand and tried taking over with what WE need to do. My opinion is wash your hands and stay home if you are sick and if you have other conditions, limit when and where you go. This is a VIRUS, we have other viruses all the time going around. How did this one differ that we have to be afraid of everyone and mask/eye shield and glove up and become afraid and suspect everyone? Kids are paying the price now with no schooling. I am not sure I agree with what they are being taught, but to remote teach is not going to cut it. Cuomo needs to resign, I can only imagine the pain the families are in that were not allowed in to see dying relatives and all because of something HE did and is covering up now. I have a friend up the street that has not been able to see his wife (in a nursing home) for months, it is really doing a number on HIM. This is what Cuomo and Whitmer and numerous other liberal Governors are pulling. The need to pay the price, but will they?

I doubt we will ever know the real count, but we can get a lot closer. The simple solution is for those at high risk is to wear a N95 mask that those who treat Covid patients wear. These are highly effective when worn properly. For the rest go about your business.. we lived through flu, polio, TB without shutting down the country… For the life of me I do not understand the N95 masks are not made available… a few knock off are out there.. KN95 are china masks. You can see “registered” N95.. but not the same.

Bunker, I have stopped buying or using anything coming from China. I do not trust anything they have to say, I probably never did, but now it is front and center that they covered the virus up.
I will not be one taking the vaccine. All of a sudden it is ok to use? I do not take flu shots or shingles shots or pneumonia shots. I am at the age they try and forcefully let you know you need them. I do not and I will not. My body, my choice, as they say.
As for the mask, guess N95 is about as good as we can get, if they would make more of them. In the USA. I still think the herd mentality will be what happens. This sheltering is just postponing the normal cycle of a virus. Just my opinion.

I don’t think we are ever going to get the real number. In NY they will hide the higher number from us to protect Cuomo but nationwide they have inflated the numbers and we will never get the truth.

I wonder if all those dead people are going to be allowed to vote Democrat in the upcoming election. Voter Registration needs to be purged of those who died!

A lot of places have been doing some purging of voters, but you can see that the Democrats freak out over it. They need those votes. This is so “in your face” now that they really don’t care what we know and what is still hidden, they are full speed ahead.

If the majority of people didn’t have a ‘working conscious’ this guy wouldn’t be around. Think of those ‘finding out’ that their parent / grandparent didn’t have to die ☠️ but did because of this fiend 👿! Doesn’t matter how many bodyguards he has, where there’s a will there’s a way. When those in positions of keeping REAL JUSTICE don’t the scale is unbalance and needs to Correct/Right itself ⚖️
