Los Angeles to allow outdoor dining in bars and restaurants but without television
The overseers in Los Angeles are allowing restaurants and bars which have not permanently closed due to the county’s draconian COVID-19 lockdown orders to reopen outdoor dining with one strange caveat. They are not allowing the patrons of these establishments to watch television, here is more on this baffling rule:
Outdoor dining in Los Angeles County reopened Friday with a catch: restaurants and bars can’t have their televisions turned on for customers, according to a new health order.
“Televisions or any other screens that are used to broadcast programming must be removed from the area or turned off. This provision is effective until further notice,” guidance issued Thursday reads.
It’s unclear why the county is prohibiting restaurants from using their televisions given no scientific evidence that television contributes to the spread of the coronavirus.
Of course they offered no reason because there is no reason. This is not about keeping people safe, there is no science behind this decision, this is about showing the people they still have control over them and can take away their freedoms again any time they chose if the plebeians do not comply.
malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium
Everyone knows dining stood the virus from spreading and watching TV stops the virus from spreading but watching TV while eating spreads the virus. Come on people get with the program….just not while eating.🤡

Ah, I get it now! It’s like how the virus is only 5 and a half feet off the ground so that is why you have to wear a mask when walking in a restaurant but can take it off while sitting down…

Surprised they would give up an opp to purport more of their propaganda by mandating all businesses have a TV permanently tuned in to CNN.

Don’t give them any ideas, that will be the next step!

You nailed it again Steve. It is ALL ABOUT training us to be good little lemmings. When told to jump by what is clearly becoming a police state, the only thing they want to hear is “how high?”.
BTW, the beatings WILL continue until morale improves (or until the opposition is suitably “reeducated”.

I think some of us still have several beatings to go! 😉

I’d have to assume their reasoning is that TVs encourage people to hang around longer or congregate, so removing them removes the ‘fun’.
But in reality – I’m glad there will be less TVs. It’ll be nice to have restaurants be quieter and more personal. There’s plenty of times I wanted the sports turned off.
