Barack Obama tells Supporters to Get in The Face of Non-Supporters

This is the man who will unite the country? This is the man who offers hope? This is the man who offers change? This is the man who will transcend party lines? This is the man that will heal America? This is the man who will heal our souls? This is the man who will lower the sea levels? This is the man who will forgive our sins and give us everlasting life?

Barack Obama has claimed that he wants to change the tone in Washington, he has said that we need to end partisan politics as usual. What he really means by this is that it is time for Republicans to shut up and agree with him. His record shows a complete lack of bi-partisanship, so how does he propose we unite the country?

I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,”

By asking his supporters to argue and bully non-supporters to his side. To bicker and quarrel with opponents. This doesn’t sound like a new tone to me. Don’t tell us you are going to be different when you offer more of the same. His message of hope has been replaced by politics as usual.

This is Barack Obama’s community organizer skills on full display here.

No surprise there – except that he waited this long – since he used to work with ACORN when he a “community organizer” in Chicago. Intimidation tactics are normal procedures for ACORN.

First of all I don’t know if that quote is accurate. Secondly, what is wrong with arguing and ebate? In fact if we didn’t argue and debate we would be stale and not be able to adapt.

I think that the difference between McCain and Obama is clear. Obama wants dialogue and discussion between factions. I think that if more people did argue and discuss then there would not be as bad of a problem here in the states.

Too many people stick to their own and never venture into the “other” guys camp. That is one of the reasons I visit this blog is to see what you all think. I do think that you have a good heart. I just disagree with the journey.

Thanks for posting all comments. I think that shows you have confidence and grace. I really appreciate it. And feel free to come to my blog and argue as much as you want. 🙂

    @endithinks

The quote is ver batim. We Conservatives welcome debate. We don’t welcome people getting in our faces. Who does? Obama doesn’t want dialog. Who are you kidding? He wants a monologue. Ever hear one of those Obamites call in to a talk show. All talk – no listen – Quick to speak – Slow to hear. It’s ridiculous!

    Dan,

Talk shows are not a good argument I’m afraid. I can quote hours of in your face style conservative yelling as well. What I am talking about is the need to actually communicate and not be timid and afraid to talk to the opposition.

Being in someone’s face is a bit on the edgier side I will admit. I think that people need to be assertive and willing to engage in dialogue.

Also let’s be honest, sometimes we don’t listen to the other side at all. It is quiteeasy to surround ourselves with information and people that believe the exact same thing we do. I challenge people to interact with people different from them and to read dissenting views. The only way we are going to keep together as a country is if we stop isolating ourselves.

Thanks for the confirmation of the quote. I appreciate your views and I can definetely understand where you are coming from. I think Obama said that in the heat of passion.

This almost sounds like a page from PETA… wonder how long before he starts condoning throwing paint on republicans. 🙂

Seriously though, I recently read an article where some of his supporters are going across the country and challenging union members who are voting McCain using techniques described above. I didn’t bother bookmarking it and I don’t have time to look it up at the moment. I’ll see if I can find it later if interested.

I found the story. It is a bit devoid on specifics. Given the author is pro-Obama, that probably was intentional.

I did a little more digging and found this.

    Dear Mr. Obama,
Last night I was out and minding my own business when someone asked me about my Presidential preferance. Much to thier dismay I told them I supported Senator McCain. He then got all hostile with me and “got in my face.” He is now missing two teeth. Your tactics are dividing this country Senator.

why can’t you people EVER tell the whole story? Here is the complete quote it is in response to the non stop attacks from repuplicans. He is calling on us to respond with truth. Not to stand for the lies anymore

“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face,” he said.

“And if they tell you that, ‘Well, we’re not sure where he stands on guns.’ I want you to say, ‘He believes in the Second Amendment.’ If they tell you, ‘Well, he’s going to raise your taxes,’ you say, ‘No, he’s not, he’s going lower them.’ You are my ambassadors. You guys are the ones who can make the case.”

Don’t ask don’t tell—a personal note. Three years of my time in the navy was spent at the Naval Air Station at Kingsville, TX. A isolated spot to say the least. Anyway, I was a dental technician there. Our billet was above the garage where they parked the ‘meat wagon”, ambulance. We shared our barraks with the hospital corpsman, as the dental clinic and medical clinic were in the same building. Anyway, to the point. One dental technician named Denzel was always watching all the guys in the shower (no private showers for the most part in the military). Continued in next box……….
We didn’t like it, but even in those days nothing was done. Denzel after all worked for a naval LtCom., major for you army guys. Anyway one Christmas eve we both had the duty down in the dental clinic—someone had to be there in case of a tooth ache or something. Denzel and I were bored, it was a slow evening so we went down to the end of a long hall to the glass door that opened into the medical clinic—we just wanted to see if anything was going on there. While standing next to each other at the door Denzel proceeded to reach down and grab my (you know what). Needless to say I hit him(I was bigger) and then kicked him. No real damage done. The next morning I reported the incident to the commanding officer of the dental unit–a naval Captain(colonel, to use army guys). Anyway Denzel was out in about a month with a less than honorable discharge. Now back to don’t ask don’t tell. That should be left up to the men in the military not to the politicans. Obama and the others on capital hill don’t have to have these freaks looking at them in the showers and grabbing them when no ones looking.
