Nancy Pelosi: buy health insurance or go to jail
According to this press release by the Joint Committee on Taxation, Americans who refuse to buy and maintain “adequate” healthcare insurance will face fines up to $250,000 and imprisonment up to five years.
“Criminal penalties
Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual:
• Section 7203 – misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.
• Section 7201 – felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.” [page 3]
This is America?
The Senate Finance Committee had the good sense to eliminate the extreme penalty of incarceration. Speaker Pelosi’s decision to leave in the jail time provision is a threat to every family who cannot afford the $15,000 premium her plan creates

What I find interesting is that while you and I will get fined and jailed for not have compulsorily health insurance, Rangle gets off the hook for over a million dollars in unpaid taxes. That is such a double-standard! I guess the motto for the progressives is, “Do as I say, not as I Do!”

Good point, and Rangel isn’t the only one either. I have another question for you, while you and I could face jail time will the illegal aliens who will receive free healthcare be jailed if they do not get healthcare?
