Obama officials believe Scott Brown will win in Massachusetts

January 17, 2010

Another mobile post, hopefully I will get my computer back tomorrow.

According to this report, Obama officials believe that Scott Brown will defeat Martha Coakley in Massachusetts for the “people’s seat.”

Barack Obama made a trip today to try to revive Martha Coakley’s faltering campaign. But officials in the Obama administration have let it leak that they believe Scott Brown will win. They have access to the best internal polls available, so this should be troubling to the administration and to Democrats in general. However, one has to wonder if this nothing more than political gamesmanship.

Why would the administration let this news slip if they truly believed Martha Coakley would lose, and why would Obama risk the political embarrassment if that were the case?

Either the election of Martha Coakley really is in doubt and Obama campaigned on her behalf as a last ditch effort, figuring there was nothing to lose, and leaking this news provides political coverage. The administration will be able to claim that the race was lost before Obama showed up and that his appearance, while it failed to rally the base, did not adversely effect the outcome.

Or, the administration is trying to lull the conservatives to sleep. If he lets it slip that he doesn’t feel Martha Coakley can win, perhaps conservatives will stay away from the polls figuring that Scott Brown has the election in the bag. If that is the case it won’t work, there has not been voter excitement in Massachusetts like this in many, many years. Conservatives in Massachusetts, who have thought for so long that their vote means nothing, just cannot wait to vote; nothing will stop them from voting on Tuesday.

And then there is still the possibility that the Obama internal polls show that Martha Coakley could still win and his appearance could push her over the top, that all is not lost. If Coakley wins the election, the Democrats would then be able to say it was because of Obama. They would then be able to use Coakley’s victory as proof that the people are still behind Obama’s agenda, even though the polls in Massachusetts show that only 35% of likely voters approve of the healthcare reform bill.

Whatever the case may be, and while this news seems uplifting at first glance, remember that this could just be political posturing and gamesmanship. There is a reason that this information was leaked; now is not the time for contentment, there will be plenty of time for that on Wednesday. We are in the last throes of the campaign, you alone can hammer the death knell into Barack Obama’s agenda.

The eyes of the nation are upon you.
The revolution will be televised!

I’m really starting to wonder about all this “leaked” information that we here about all the time. If loose lips sink ships, how are any Washington people still breathing?

Yep, you bet there was a reason for saying this. When she does actually loose then they can say – “Well we knew that she was in trouble, she did a poor job of promoting herself.” They will throw her under the bus, and make it seem like this is no big deal. Great job Scott Brow, keep it up conservatives.

This may be out there for some people but I am so stoked. At church tonight a woman who was a guest speaker, stopped in the middle of what she was saying, and said we need to pray for the elections in Massachusetts on Tuesday. When she got done, I really felt like Brown was going to win. In addition, she said she felt this race would cause a shift that would take us back to our founding purposes, all the way back to the beginning. This would be a major wake up for America. Wow! I cannot tell you how excited I am and how much anticipation I have for Tuesday!

Speaking to your article, I think letting this news slip is to lull voters into thinking they don’t need to vote. It’s dirty politics now. I read today, they brought the faulty voting machines in so I can just imagine what will transpire once Brown wins!

Well, this wouldn’t be the first time that officials have contradicted eachother in this regime.

What leaks? Obama administration is a sieve. Osama bin Obama is the weakest except for Jimmy Carter in history. His poll numbers are worse than any in history. Pelosi is the dictator and Reid the dirty dealer and the light skinned chocolate man does what he’s told. He signs bills without reading them and he blames bush for his ineffectiveness. Bush spend a whopping 1.6 trillion. Obama has rubber stamped 2.8 trillion the most money spent in history. Our economy is rough and the entire year these dictatorships have pushed this zykon B pelosicare down our throats while the economy got worse and the dollar lost 20% of its value.

Think about it, not one republican vote is on that bill. It is hardly bipartisan yet it will effect 1/6 of the total economy and the elderly, tricare, and it sets up a punitive system of punishment to be run by IRS. This is a cloud over our nation. I am an independent voter. I don’t like seeing one party behaving like this and this is the worst it has ever been.

These guys need a message. Scott Brown is a genuinely nice person, good Catholic, and working class guy. I am tired of the professional politicians, and families like the kennedy’s. Who made them king? Just because they have a trust fund, they think they should rule from the big house on the beach while the rest of us grind out a living? I am not interested in paying more for illegals and more welfare. What about my family? I don’t want a handout, I just want more of what I earn to go to them because I don’t owe illegals like obama’s aunt free food, free shelter, utilities and money in the hand. What about my family? Why should I be paying for his illegal aunt? Enough already. I am voting for Brown. Good luck Scott

They can try to “lull” the right, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s just making me more jazzed to get there at 7am in the morning, cannot wait. The only reason the president went to church was b/c it’s MLK day? And could he have harped on the pick-up truck any more? Brown may be a RINO, and he may win just b/c people do not want Obamacare, but so be it. It will help turn the tide. I’m sure our rockstar, busdriver president will find something or someone to blame.

Do not under estimate ACORN, SEIU and their mercenaries.
They will bring buses and visit multiple voting sites and cast as many votes for Coakley as they can get away with.
There will be mysterious absentee ballots showing up, broken voting booths.
This is war against a progressive socialist agenda where the ends justifies the means to the enemies of freedom.
The weapons of the new minute man are cell phones, cameras and video.
Take pictures of the Bus tags and the people coming out of them. Cross reference the tags to see just how many voting sites the same busses go to.

I will be wearing brown tomorrow and watching.
God bless and Good luck you voters of Mass

What are you talking about. Scott Brown just ran the biggest ROBOCALL drive in Massachusetts history funded by out of state anti-gay marriage organization NOM. What you are saying is SO contrary to the truth. I know people who have been called by Brown’s camp more than ONE HUNDRED TIMES and they won’t stop. Sorry, but this isn’t right for the state I live in. Brown is a douchbag allowing his campaign do the same crap that Mormons did in CA for Prop 8!

The robocalls should be stopped, even outlawed, but that doesn’t change anything about what Rick was talking about.

Keep hoping for the best but IF it doesn’t happen, don’t let it be such a let down that the fight is abandoned…

It is, after all, Massachusetts, and anything is possible… And I hate to see the depression the GOP folks will feel IF the Dems carry the day…

Tis true TF, but IF Scott Brown does not win I WILL be totally let down, depressed and feel abandoned by the voters of Massachusetts. Not that it hasn’t happened before. I used to live there before Dukakus pushed me and my business out in the late 80’s
But IF Scott Brown pulls it off I will be so happy to see the SECOND SHOT HEARD ROUND THE WORLD
IF Scott Brown wins it will quake the earth around DC like no Tea Party could and thats just the beginning.

We just might be seeing the beginning of the Conservative movement. One in which an educated public begins to vote to unravel the political correctness that has become such a disease in the west.
Sorry I have a good feeling about this…and you are right it might be a hard fall.
