Gibson CEO speaks out after raid by the Department of Justice

August 27, 2011

  I wrote yesterday about this disturbing story in which the Obama regime raided Gibson guitar plants for Gibson’s perceived crimes against the environment, but if what Gibson CEO  Henry Juszkiewicz says is true this story is even more disturbing than I first thought. It was reported that the federal government raided these Gibson plants because they thought that Gibson was illegally purchasing wood from protected forests in India, but it turns out that is not the case at all.

  As Bunkerville first pointed out yesterday in this post, the federal government raided Gibson not because they claimed that Gibson violated not any American environmental laws, but rather because they claimed Gibson violated Indian laws.

   Henry Juszkiewicz claims that the notice he received from the federal government stated that he was in violation of Indian law because too much American labor was performed on the wood he received and not enough Indian labor was used in the product before it shipped to his facilities. This is the official position of the United States government according to Mr. Juskiewicz, but apparently this is not the position of the Indian government, which approved the sale of this wood to Gibson as indicated by the fact that Gibson was provided with the proper paperwork from India to verify Juszkiewicz’s claim.

  The United States government is interpreting Indian law differently than India itself is, and one has to wonder what the true motive behind this raid was. According to the interview, which I have included below, there are other guitar companies which are doing exactly the same as is Gibson yet the federal government is only targeting Gibson.

  It is being speculated that this is because Gibson is a non-union shop and it is also being speculated that political donations made by Gibson is the true reason behind this raid. And to be honest, I don’t doubt this in the least because we have already seen the federal government tell a private company–Boeing–that is could not build a facility in a non right to work state.

  If this is true we are entering very scary times; we are witnessing political intimidation at its worst when the federal government raids private factories because these factories do not follow a business model that the regime feels is necessary, or even worse if a private company donates money to the political party that is not in power.

  We are reaching critical mass here and we must reverse this trend and throw off this despot before it is too late.

    Out of all the instrument makers in the US, Gibson is the ONLY ONE not in a Union state. Check it out it’s true.

    Gibson is the only guitar company targeted by the Obama DOJ under the
    Lacey Act.

    Tennessee is a right-to-work state.

    Fender, Taylor, Rickenbacker, Danelectro, Carvin, MusicMan, and ESP
    are in California;
    Spector is in New York;
    Martin is in Pennsylvania;
    Guild, Ovation, and Hamer are in Connecticut;
    Alvarez is in Missouri;
    B.C. Rich is in Kentucky;
    Heritage is in Michigan;
    Washburn is in Illinois.

    All are forced-union states.

      It certainly is beginning to seem as if this raid was politically motivated, it is sad to think that we cannot trust our government any longer. Intimidation at is worst.

        2nd raid, too.

        How can it NOT be politically motivated??

        There is no doubt in my mind Harrison that this was politically motivated, and I hope that when the Congress comes back in session that it holds Barack Obama’s feet to the fire on this.

    On our way to the NWO one world government. Think they’re trying to set the precedence for this executive order?

        But all they got was wood, perhaps they will be going after the owners of these guitars next–my son is one of them.

    It sounds to me like the Obama administration is on a witch hunt against Gibson. They have essentially stolen millions of dollars of product from the company, based on an incorrect interpretation of a law, and the only way Gibson can retrieve that product is to prove, to a hostile entity (the Obama administration) that they are not doing anything illegal.

    Whatever happened to being innocent until proven guilty?

      It does seem to be backwards, doesn’t it? How did we let this happen to our country?

    The work that you and Bunkerville have done on this issue is commendable. This Chicago style intimidation against Gibson for what ever reason. Here is an administration the bemoans the greedy corporations for sending jobs to other countries and here they are complaining that Americans are doing too much of the work and Indians are not allowed to do more of it. WTH!!!
    Thanks for this post!

      Thanks, the more that we find out about this the more politically motivated it seems to be.

    Thanks for the link. There could be numerous reasons for this, anyone of them is scary. For me, my hunch would be to try and supercede the Supreme Court. By the time it goes through our courts, many businesses would be shut down. Take your pick.

      You are welcome, we need to get the word out there. This was either politically motivated because Gibson is a non-union shope or it was because they have their factories in non right to work states. But it could be even worse than that if we find out that the Obama regime feels more beholden to the international courts than the courts of the United States.

    That is pretty ridiculous. But this isn’t the first time this has happened to Gibson. In 2009, there was also a raid. Though the 2009 raid was less severe and didn’t cause Gibson to lose money.

      No charges were ever filed against Gibson after the 2009 raid and they never recovered their property so I would say that the 2009 raid did indeed cost Gibson money.

    I was looking at a few other websites I check out each day and ran across this article,the website I am referring to is hillbuzz.org. It appears that C.F. Martin & Co., who is a competitor of Gibson and a large contributor to the DNC also uses the same wood. Is it possible as it states, that Attorney General Eric Holder is abusing the DOJ for politcal means? It is something to think about. Why would they “raid” one place and not the other? As we thought, things are not always as they seem when it comes to this administration.

      Something fishy is afloat here; it seems as if this was done for political reasons, there is no other reason I can come up with for Obama’s bullying of Gibson while ignoring other companies which follow the same guidelines.

      I don’t believe it and I expect Darrell Issa to look into this when he has the time. But with all of Barack Obama’s other infractions he might not have the time to look into this.

        Steve, as far as I am concerned there is so much to “look into” that it has gotten overwhelming! What does it take to convince the public that the corruption is running rampant in this administration? I am just thinking out loud here, you don’t really need to answer it. I am just amazed that there are still some that won’t believe anything even when it is thrown in their faces.
        Wow, just wow, I know I have said this before, but well it is unbelievable!!!

        It really is getting overwhelming and maybe that is part of the plan. Just throw so much out there that the American people and the Congress just can’t digest it all. Maybe he thinks that he will throw it all out there knowing that some of it will slip through the cracks.
