Barack Obama Insults Our Troops

During a speech Barack Obama showed his true colors about his feelings for our military, he said “We now have spent $400 billion and have seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted.”
Wasted, he says Americans who have given their lives defending our country have wasted their lives. Can you possibly understand how disgraceful a comment like that is. These are people who love our country so much they are willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice so that we may continue our way of life uninterrupted.
The fact that he believes they have wasted their lives shows he cannot be trusted with national security.
I hope that everyone out there takes this seriously, and thinks twice before they vote for someone as linguini spined as this man.

If Saddam Hussein actually had weapons of mass destruction that he was actually intending to use to attack America, and our soldiers had invaded his country and stopped him from doing that, then they would have been defending our country. But that isn’t what happened in reality. Therefore, our soldiers did not die defending our country; they died carrying out the imperialistic plans of the neoconservatives. That does not imply that they died dishonorably, but it does mean that their lives were wasted.
Imagine what Thomas Jefferson would have thought about our invading another country that posed no real threat to us! Imagine what he would think about our government spying on American citizens, about holding suspects indefinitely without charge, without due process, or kidnapping people and sending them to foreign countries to avoid the scrutiny of oversight. Imagine what he would say about the so-called Patriot Act.
There is a vast difference between patriotism and nationalism.

Cristina, simply to decry what I wrote as “talking points of the democrats” is a variation on an ad hominem attack. Refute the content of what I said, if you can. Who is spying on Americans? The authoritarian government. The State. Is that the vision you have of our beloved nation?
We were a constitutional republic, the sole function of whose government was to protect the liberty of its citizens, each as sovereign as a king in Europe. What happened to us?
