Congress’ Iraq War Funding Bill Is Unconstitutional
March 28, 2007
As commander in chief, the president has the only constitutional authority to manage a war. The congress has no right to micro manage a war. They cannot set timetables, direct war policies, or strategies. They can defund the war, that is all. They don’t have the guts to put their money where their campaign promises are. The Iraq war emergency funding bill as passed is unconstitutional, this needs to be fought all the way to the supreme court. I know the president will veto this bill and the votes aren’t there for an over ride, but something needs to be done to stop this congress from overstepping their boundries. Read more here.

I concur the President is commander in chief, I disagree the bill even broaches irregularity irregardless of whether or not a veto is used.
The President is also correct in pointing out the issue of continued funding is pure political maneuvering but what in foggy bottom is not?
What the President and his supporters are having a difficult time accepting I think is true or not a growing majority of Americans feel he cheery picked information he knew or should have known was false to begin with in respect to the War.
I will even concede none would have much cared had the war plan worked. But it did not, He and his people failed and in a spectacular fashion.
Blame the media or the liberal conspiracy it matters not, it is what it is and he will be hard pressed to avoid impeachment if too many senior aids start taking the fifth to avoid testifying before congress which I concede to you ahead of time is simply more political theater.
He shares the fate of his Dad, Never tell the American people read my lips I am telling ya the truth and then get caught telling a fib.
We knew what we were getting with slick Willy, he as much admitted he was a mile wide and an inch deep,
But candidate Bush presented himself as a God fearing born again bible believing disciple intent on restoring Honor, dignity, credibility and accountability to the office of President and Gosh if it didn’t turn out Bill Clinton had nothing on George when it comes to speaking with both sides of his mouth.
My advice to the Bush administration, when they decide to run ya out of town, act like its a victory parade. As to his ability to pass any legislation of substance during the remainder of his term, That ship sailed in November and the ticket was non-refundable.
But he can keep busy picking out shelves for his future presidential library I expect the history of his Presidency will just about fill a small spindle desk by the time democrats repeal the majority of it.
