Rep John Murtha(D-Pa) says Democrats should Consider Impeachment

John Murtha says the Democrats should consider impeaching the president for keeping the American people safe. Most rational people including many elected Democrats know that impeachment should not be considered. Murtha is simply trying to score political points for his party with this rhetoric. I find it despicable the way they are playing games with the war and the soldier’s lives.

“They say we’re willing to compromise, and then we don’t get any compromise,” said Murtha. “We’ve already compromised. And we need to make this president understand, Mr. President, the public has spoken.”

What have the Democrats compromised? Not cutting off war funding altogether? If they really believed what they are saying they would cut funding and end the war immediately. The only thing the Democrats have compromised is the safety of our troops, the safety of the American people, and their principles and integrity.

Sen. Sam Brownback (Kan.), a Republican presidential candidate, responded: “This is assured defeat.  Defeat will happen in America, not in Iraq. That’s not what the American people want.”

Well said, we are losing the war but it’s in America where we are losing, not in Iraq.
