Senate comes to Agreement on Comprehensive Immigration Reform

May 17, 2007

There really is nothing I can say about this immigration reform bill that hasn’t already been said but here goes anyway.

This bill is a travesty. I have heard from both liberals and conservatives about how awful this plan is. The American people are being sold down the river.

Sen. Kennedy is supposed to be against the out sourcing of American jobs to China, yet he is in favor of out sourcing jobs to illegal aliens. It’s not just the Democrats here, both sides have agreed on a bill that will destroy the fabric of what America stands for. The American people do not favor amnesty, which is what this bill is. Not only does it give people who broke the law to get here amnesty, it provides their families who are not even here yet amnesty.

We are being told this  is what America wants.

There is “broad consensus” that “undocumented workers” inside the U.S. “should be offered the chance to earn their legalization,” Kennedy said.

There is no consensus with the American people for amnesty, who the hell does he think he is fooling?

Sen Kennedy says the immigration system is broken. Is that so? Isn’t he the one who broke it with the last amnesty bill? How did that work out?

“In 1986, Congress passed the Immigration Reform and Control Act, giving amnesty to all illegal aliens who had been in the country four years or more or were illegally working in agriculture,” said Jones.

“As a result, 2.8 million illegal aliens were admitted as legal immigrants to the United States,” he said, noting that there are currently 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S.

That’s how.

The biggest problem we face is the fact that the house of representatives was able to kill a similar amnesty bill last year. How is that a problem? The conservative Republicans lost 30 seats in the house because the American people supposedly wanted to send a message to the president about the war. They were so shortsighted about the war that they didn’t consider the ramifications of their actions. Now we are going to pay for it. This bill is going to pass and the president is going to sign it.

Mark today’s date, May 17th, 2007. It’s the beginning of the end of this country as we know it.

Our country has been lost.

Thank you,

goodnight.

Can’t say I fully agree with you on this one my friend, but this bill has a LONG way to go before it becomes law.

I don’t like some of the parts of the bill, but I think that the enforcement part is so vital.

Ironically, it may be killed by the left, not the right. Go figure on that one!

I may have gone a little over the top- just a little 🙂 But I do have a problem with rewarding people who broke the law to get here while people who are waiting in line to get here the right way get passed over.
I agree with you on enforcement, I just hope they remember to enforce the new laws, they really didn’t seem to enforce the old laws they way I think they should have.
