Harry Reid is Incompetent, not General Peter Pace

Just 19 percent of voters nationwide had a favorable opinion of Mr. Reid in a Rasmussen Reports survey conducted last weekend — down from 26 percent a month ago and still lower than Mr. Bush’s 35 percent favorable rating.

This is the man that is supposed to lead the senate, and what a fine job he has done. Since he took over as senate majority the senate has passed numerous domestic bills, stopped earmarks, and ended the war. At least that is what they promised to do. It is so easy to make promises when you are the minority, but when you have a majority and it’s time to legislate, it’s not always so easy.

The fact is that the senate did pass an easy domestic agenda, but none of it has made it to the president’s desk for a signature.

Stopping earmarks? The truth is they are hiding them in the bills and making it impossible for Republicans to block them.

Stopping the war? The Democrats had the chance and they cut and ran from the fight over the funding of the troops, they caved to the president. They know the disaster that would follow a troop pullout so they wouldn’t do it. However they are still making it look as though they are trying.

 “When we were able to get a [troop-withdrawal] bill passed — the president vetoed it — that raised everyone’s expectations,” he said. “But I say this: On Iraq, we are going to hold the president’s feet to the fire.”

The only way they were able to get the bill with the timetables passed was to bribe senators with some of the above mentioned earmarks, that is trully dipicable. Trading a war funding vote with troops in the field for some money back home.

So why the DISMAL approval rating? Harry Reid would love to have president Bush’s approval rating right about now.

Voters say Democrats failed to deliver on promised changes, especially with the war in Iraq, which helped them win control of Congress in the midterm elections, said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute in Hamden, Conn.
    “The war is still going on, which is a reason many of them voted Democrat,” he said. “Voters want results, and this indicates they are not liking so far what they are getting.”

First of all, if the voters really thought the Democrats would be able to just swoop into power and end the war, shame on them. There was never any chance that they would just cut off funding, which is the only wat that they could end the war.

Last week Harry Reid called two of our military leaders, Gen. Peter Pace and Gen. David Petraeus, incompetent. This isn’t suprising as he has already declared defeat in Iraq, and the surge a failure. While it isn’t surprising it is disturbing that he make these comments about two commanders during the middle of a war. At least he didn’t refer to our soldiers as Nazis, the way Sen. Dick Dubin did.

 Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has led his senate troops into battle against the war and the president, and has accomplished nothing on the battlefield of the senate floor. The Democrat surge into power has failed. I call for withdrawal of Democrats from power, it’s time for Democrats to cut and run from the senate.

Harry Reid calling anyone incompetent with the record he has in the senate as leader is absurd.

HARRY REID IS INCOMPETENT
