Mike Huckabee Believes He is Surging in New Hampshire

August 25, 2007

After the Iowa straw poll in which Mike Huckabee came in second he believes the latest New Hampshire polls have him receiving a bounce. I have not seen any recent polls to find out whether the bump is actual or just perceived. But he is very confident.

Last Saturday Mike Huckabee was in my town of Kingston, New Hampshire. He attended an event called chowderfest at the Kingston 1686 House. This is an upscale restaurant about a half a mile from my house. I read in the Rockingham News that he would be at the Kingston House at 11:00 on Sunday morning and decided I had to go, it would be interesting. I thought I would head over to the Kingston House later in the day on Saturday just to find out if I needed a reservation. That is when they informed me that he appeared earlier in the day on Saturday. The Rockingham News had printed the wrong day of the event. Needless to say, I am still disappointed I missed this opportunity to sit down with a presidential candidate so close to my house.

Evidently the event went pretty well and you can read about it here.

Before you count this man out remember that Bill Clinton trailed in all the national polls before the New Hampshire primary and we know how that turned out.

What a fool he is! Iowa was fixed to keep someone else out and Huckabee was the lucky guy who got the extra votes. However, he is nowhere in the polls here, not winning any straw polls like Ron Paul is, and was snippy to any questions asked.

Mike’s not got a good record — he’s for NCLB, raised taxes and wants the ‘fair tax’ which would be rejected by true conservatives. He’s also in bed with Tyson Chicken.

Is it any wonder he’s copying all the things Ron Paul is saying?

    “But he is very confident.”

Maybe God’s told him something? 😉

There is a gut check thing about Huckabee that I strongly dislike so I’m hoping he doesn’t get traction. He is way down on my list, if we are going to be picking from the 2nd tier I would be much more in favor of Duncan Hunter than Huckabee.
