House Republicans to Investigate Democrats for Stolen House Vote on Illegal Immigration

September 5, 2007

According to this post on cnsnews.com house Republican have launched their own investigation into a vote that they claim was stolen by Democrats right before the recess. This was a vote that would have barred taxpayer money from being used for benefits for illegal aliens. The issue of barring taxpayer money to support illegals doesn’t appear to be too controversial to me. I don’t want my money going to someone who doesn’t belong here, unfortunetaly Democrats see it differently.

According to House Republican Leader John Boehner, the GOP proposal passed 215-213 on the night of Aug. 2. But Democratic leaders promptly reopened the vote and allowed several Democrats to change their minds.

When Democratic leaders ordered the vote closed for a second time, the Republican motion was defeated — and taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal immigrants were restored, Boehner said.

Now, if the Democrats are for the working class as they claim to be, why would they vote to take the middle class worker’s money and give it to ILLEGALS? Because they don’t care about the middle class. When they talk about the rich needing to pay their fair share, they are talking about anyone who has a job. If you work you are rich. How does it feel to be rich? The fact is that the Democrats want to promise illegals the world hoping for the day when the illegals gain voting rights, thus ensuring their vote. The same holds true with everyone eho is collecting welfare, they just promise them more money, foodstamps, free healthcare, and on and on it goes. Someone has to pay for all these benefits, nothing is free, and it is the hard working taxpayers that have to foot the bill for this.

Based on conversations with constituents back home, Republicans apparently believe that the “stolen vote” issue will resonate with voters, and they’ve named a select committee with subpoena power to look into what happened.

The panel, announced on Wednesday, is expected to report its preliminary findings to the House by September 30, 2007, with a final, comprehensive report due by September 15, 2008 — just a few months before the general election.

With all the endless investigations going on in congress by Democrats it is about time we saw the Republicans turn the table on them and fight for something that is truly important. This illegal immigrant issue is one of the issues that should be at the forefront of the presidential election, and I believe it is important for the American people to hear about how the Democrats twarted us hard working, tax paying Americans and are all to willing to give our money away to people who not only don’t have the right to it, they don’t have the right to be here.

Remeber this when you go to the voting booth next November, I know I will.

This is a PERFECT example of the left putting their own interests above that of the average people. Taxes going to illegals helps nobody but the illegals AND the democrats of course. And how insulting and cynical is it that they assume they can buy the future votes of hispanics with handouts?
