Kevin Spacey Meets Hugo Chavez

September 25, 2007

Kevin Spacey, not to be outdone by Sean Penn, flew to Venezuela to meet dictator Hugo Chavez.

Just another elite liberal expressing his hatred for the president by meeting a ruthless dictator. I’m not surprised by this, what do you expect from Hollywood anyway. Whenever you take a script away from them they expose their true ignorance.

Who does this Spacey guy think he is? We need McCarthy hearings to come back. These guys (Penn and Spacey) are spitting in the face of America. I’ll never see another one of these guys movies again!

This is sooooooooooooo disgusting!!!!! What is wrong with these idiots?????? It makes my head want to explode. Do we need to document and videotape all the torture and murder that Chavez, Castro & Hitler Jr. do to drive home to them what they are supporting? Even then I’m sure they would come up with some insane answer. This just makes me sick.

And I’m with gabadab, I was never a fan of Penn or Spacey so you won’t see me watching any of their movies again.

Why don’t people get informed before adding inane comments. Chavez was elected democratically…Bush never was and while bush killed over one million people and nearly 4000 Americans, Chavez installed the most democratic constitution in the history of the world.
Chavez is educated and knows more history than any American spineless (democratic congressman) and ten times more than any warmongering Republican oppressor.
gadabab, mpinkeyes,Dee, Gram, and mike are as ignorant as W and have their heads up their colon.

Hollywood and the record industry have been having their share of problems the last few years. What do they blame it on? The Internet and Piracy! However, let me suggest something: I WAS a fan of Kevin Spacey’s, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, et al. BUT, their STUPID, IGNORANT, ELITIST, INSIPID, rantings and ravings (not to mention rubbing asses with dictators) and obvious hatred for the country that has given them the opportunity to display their ignorance and “spoiled child” behavior, has turned me off to the point where I REFUSE to support these contemptible fools. Do you think I am the only one? I don’t thinks so. We can assume that 40-50% of their audiences just may be conservatives. Even if it were only 20%, figure out Hollywood and the record industry’s bottom line, MINUS 20%! Now figure it minus 40-50%!

And they blame it on file sharing and the Internet!

    Truly stupid, ignorant fools.

Of course Aldo, fits into that group of ignorant, insipid fools. He has decided, after listening to himself, that he is a political intellectual who knows what he’s talking about.

These are the jerks that are out there. Where is God and Noah when you need them?

Steve, you make a great point about the movie and record industry. I personally don’t go to many concerts any more because I can’t stand being preached to inbetween songs. Just shut up and play your music, concerts are supposed to be a diversion from reality not an extension of it.
I am often surprised when I listen to songs on the radio now how I never understood what many of the songs were about, and now I understand.

PS, I know they are not a US band, but you forgot U2. I hate everything about them.

    MPE,

How about John Fogerty, great as he is, spouting out dieing to be relevent in a big way with his new album. Hasn’t Bush been bashed enough? Does he really need to ingratiate himself with some of his fans this way? How many will pass on it? What these guys fail to understand is you turn off so much of the audience, and to the rest, you’re just preaching to the choir. I get Rolling Stone magazine for 3 reasons: 1: It was really cheap, 2: I keep track of the usually foolish music business, and 3:To keep abreast of their WAY left, communist/socialist agenda. However, when Robert Kennedy Jr. does his idiotic, ranting columns, for example, I ask myself this: Who have the converted? What changes have they made for their cause? And you know what? The answer is no one and nothing. Why? Because their subscriber bass is what it is and nothing more. The people who are so inclined, will agree, but they always do. The people like me and you who think they’re blubbering fools, won’t. Once again, this is preaching to the choir. They blow off their steam, think they’re doing something valiant because it feels good to them, and that’s it. Nothing more just the same people agreeing.
If these people would just shut the fuck up, and let us hear their messages through their music or art, then I might be able to take something from it. But as you say to be preached to, and the blatant, stupid chants and diatribes, well, I just can’t take it.
The last Springsteen concert I went to with the E-Street band, was before the 04 presidential election. He couldn’t control himself and attempted to use his “influence” to MANIPULATE his audience. All the Michael Moores and the rest changed nothing. Bush still won. I don’t care for people attempting to manipulate me.

Funny, I never listened to U2 much, so I don’t have the passion. Maybe I should! (Or shouldn’t!!)

Spacey is a personal friend of the Clinton’s and has always been a convinced left-wing activist. I’m sure he has duly weighed up the pros and cons of his visit to Venezuela and Cuba. The Reps won’t keep the power forever, thank God! 🙂

This is a tempest in a cup of tea.

“Who does this Spacey guy think he is? We need McCarthy hearings to come back. These guys (Penn and Spacey) are spitting in the face of America. I’ll never see another one of these guys movies again!”

    Oh grow up.

Perhaps, while you’re at it, you could drive your car over a few Dixie Chicks CDs while you’re at it, or maybe order some “freedom fries”?

If, as you people claim, America is truly the land of “liberty and free speech and democracy” and all that..then allow people a chance to dissent and, given the choice, between Bush and his Oil buddies in Saudi Arabia and Kevin Spacey and Hugo Chavez?

I’d go for Spacey and Chavez any time of the day..

However, I strongly suspect, that “democracy”, the bill of rights and freedom of speech are just convenient words used when it suits people like Bush and, when it doesn’t..well we’ve all seen the result of that!

But, then sometime the truth hurts and the only recourse is mindless “patriotism”, cheap jibes and “my country right or wrong”, heaven forbid any thinking actually comes into it.

I, for one will continue to watch Kevin Spacey and Susan Sarandon films and not be swayed by any sort of knee jerkism based on Medai led propaganda!

Peace, love dope….well, without the dope bit, as it fucks you’re blood sugar levels up..

Still, you could always drink a coke, in order to restore the balance, and you’d show how much of a “patriot” you are!

    Rich.

THANK GOD a majority of Americans DO NOT agree with all the racist, redneck, so-called patriotic mouth breathers on this blog. Chavez is no saint but bush and cheney are truly evil. Calling out your leaders IS patriotic. Blind patriotism is wrong and only leads to a moronic McCarthy mentality.

Calling people “liberal” is NOT an insult you morons. PROGRESS is a good thing. Conservatives are backward and wish they lived in a time when white men were kings and everyone else was subject to their rule. Sorry morons, it is not like that anymore.

The stupid thing about Spacey and Penn and all these others meeting with people like Chavez is that these actors have zero official standing. They use their celebrity status to bring attention and add “glory” to Chavez et al.

Brad Pitt had it right when he remarked on his lack of political activism: “Who am I to decide what side to be on. I’m just an actor that says lines written by someone else.”

Hey, Sam, calling out your leaders is okay when you have your facts in line, but just calling them “truly evil’ is truly stupid. It would seem that you have never really seen a country wracked with true evil, or do you count Blockbuster not having your favorite game, “evil”.
