Barack Obama Refuses to Wear a Flag Pin on his Lapel

October 4, 2007

In order to show his patriotism Barack Obama has decided to………….stop wearing a flag pin on his lapel. Yes, you read that right. He is trying to spin his lack of a flag pin as a show of patriotism. Somehow the left has been changing the definition of patriotism into meaning that opposing the president and war is patriotic. Harry Reid calling the war lost while our soldiers are fighting is patriotic. Dick Durbin calling our soldiers Nazis is patriotic. John Kerry saying our soldiers are terrorizing Iraqi woman and children is patriotic. You get the picture, now Obama refuses to display the flag on his lapel, evidentially he finds this cheesy and lame for of respect for the country.

“Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we’re talking about the Iraq war that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security.

“I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest,” he said in the interview. “Instead, I’m going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testament to my patriotism.”

He doesn’t want to show he is patriotic, but he feels the need to show he is patriotic. This is not all that uncommon with the left. Having to defend and define your patriotism. How many times have we heard someone on the left feel compelled to say that they love the country, or that they are patriotic, that they support the troops? The fact is they know how hateful and hurtful their comments about the war, our soldiers, and the president are. They just don’t care, but they have to come out and call themselves patriotic, it makes them feel better about themselves after the slander our troops and our president.

And After all, isn’t that what liberalism is all about, feeling good? Even if you accomplish nothing.

I think that Obama does not want to show ‘disrespect’ to the flag , carrying it wherever he goes .

To the guy who is responsible for this article and Mark, you both are dumbasses. Wearing a freakin’ flag pin does not make you a patriot!
Oh yeah, Bush is a Republican, we sure became great under him! Yep, a pointless war and other stupid crap.

I posted this over a month ago and haven’t talked about it again, I haven’t even bothered to respond to comments until now. If this is such a non issue than why don’t you let it go? Why are people still reading this non-issue post?
I just throw them out there, this one sticks for some reason.

    Here’s the problem.
I used to not mind Obama. I wasn’t going to vote for him, but I didn’t mind him.
And now, I not only mind him, but I detest him with every fiber of my being right now after having read this. None of the other stuff even matters anymore. It isn’t that wearing a flag pin makes you patriotic; it’s more the point that REFUSING to wear one makes you an idiot when you are running for President of the United States. There are thousands upon thousands of men and women who have sacrificed their lives in the name of this flag. How are our solders supposed to feel good about saluting a commander in chief who refuses to wear this flag on his chest?

This is basic, U.S. 101 kind of stuff, and he can’t even get this right because he wants to make some kind of statement? A big middle finger to everyone who serves and supports this country.

    Terrible.

So What?!! He is more American than most of us with impecable credentials. He will do a hell of a job in the Presidential Estate(BKA The White House) – much better than the previous crooks have done in the last eight years. This man and his family stand on an excellent moral foundation, compassionate for the ones who show no compassion for him, and steadfast for his Christian God. With our God behind him, how can he be wrong for President of the U.S.A.? I am so proud to finally say I have a President. Someone who gives hope to my three boys. Someone who shows that every black person in America does not have an I.Q. less than your shoe size. Someone who genuinely wants to represent all the people no matter where they originated beacause, remember, there was only one people who was originally born here – Our Native Americans! He emits pride and security for each and every one of us. I know that he will be measured on a different scale than his white counter part because of the color of his skin but that’s o.k. President Barack Obama is willing stand the tests that will be given him. And with God’s help, he will pass each one. And if he doesn’t, he won’t be the first one not to pass but he is willing to keep his path steadfast until it is all right. God Bless America! WE LOVE YOU PRESIDENT OBAMA!

Funny thing you don’t find any pictures of “the gipper” with any flag lapels, same for Nixon yet the dumbasses of the party, or the darlings if you will, Pallin and Bush don’t leave home without them. Hmmmm.
