New Hampshire Tax Protesters are in Custody, Stand-off with Federal Marshals is Over Part 2

October 5, 2007

Well, after all the posts I’ve made trying to keep people up to date with the stand-off between convicted tax evaders Ed and Elaine Brown and federal marshals the end came quick and easy and was actually very anti-climatic. I thought from following this story closely that this was going to end the same way Wako, and Ruby Ridge did, however without Janet Reno involved the situation came to an end with no shots fired.

The end appears to have begun on September 12th when four supporters of the Browns who brought them supplies and weapons left the Brown’s house to go to their own houses. Before they could return to the Brown’s residence they were arrested. Since that time the Brown’s supporters seem to have slowly dwindled. Since September 12th the Browns were almost alone. Isn’t it funny the way these anti-establishment rebels abandoned the Browns when they saw the government was serious. These people who supposedly were willing to fight to the death in support of the Browns and their cause quickly ran for the hills. Be careful of the company you keep.

Federal marshals were able to walk up to the Browns dressed as supporters, knocked on the door, and when the Browns, who were alone, answered the door the federal marshals cuffed them and took them away without a fight.
