Video:Bill Maher Defends George W Bush? Well, Sort of

October 21, 2007

A protester interrupted Bill Maher during “Real Time with Bill Maher”, it was all caught on live television on the east coast before being edited for the west coast.

The host tried to shout down the audience member, who only became more agitated.

“Do we have some (expletive) security in this building,” Maher yelled, “or do I have to come down there and kick his (expletive)?”

When security reached the man’s aisle and the man resisted leaving, Maher ran into the seats and helped them push him out the door, shouting “Out! Out! Out!”

Several other protesters, sprinkled throughout the audience, then stood up and shouted.

“This isn’t the Iowa Caucus, OK, we’re not here to debate,” Maher shouted with most of his audience cheering him on. “This is the problem with live television.”

You would probably guess, as I did, that the protester was a supporter of the president, and that is what pissed off Bill Maher, but you would be wrong.

Maher was talking science during one of his weekly panel discussions when a protester in his audience stood up, held up a smuggled-in sign reading “9/11 is a cover up fraud” and shouted comments to the same effect.

A 9/11 truther casued the whole dust up, and Bill Maher threw him out. Said Maher:

“It’s the only time I defend Bush,” he said.

Bill Maher opposes everything the president stands for, they are on opposite sides of the political spectrum. While many celebrities, like Rosie O’Donnell, and far left wing zealots hate the president so much they WANT to believe the president was behind 9/11, at least Bill Maher has this little bit of decency left in him.

This might go down as the only good thing that this guy does in his life.

To be fair Maher has always described himself as a libertarian, not a liberal and this wasnt the first time he’s spoken out against 9/11 conspiracy nuts. I still can’t stand Maher, but I too was impressed at him throwing these nuts off his set.

    Several thoughts:

    1) Only on HBO can you get away with that kind of language.

    2) Chris Matthews is SUCH A JERK!!! I don’t know how I ever thought he was halfway decent. His comments in the beginning about evolution were absurd!!

    3) Sheila Jackson Lee is a nutjob!

    4) Maher is a jerk also but he is real and honest and you got to give him credit for being smart enough not to buy into the conspiracy theory of the season.

I give Maher credit for that alone. While most leftists hate GWB so much that they are willing to spread the conspiracy theories in an attempt to discredit GWB, at least Maher doesn’t do that.
I don’t think people like Rosie really believe the conspiracy theories but she is willing to spread them anyways because she hates the president so much. At least with Maher he has true disagreements with conservatives, but he doesn’t go to this extreme to try and discredit them.
