Man Charged with Attempted Murder for Trying to Give his Girlfriend an Abortion Drug

November 30, 2007

Cross posted at Grizzly Groundswell

This is a story about a man now being charged with attempted murder for attempting to kill a fetus. You know, that mass of tissue that is not life according to the pro-choice crowd.

On Thursday, Manishkumar M. Patel, 34, of Appleton, was accused of slipping the drug(RU-486) to the woman without her knowledge. He was charged with seven felonies and two misdemeanors, including attempted first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child.

How can you be charged with killing something that isn’t life? That is a good question if you ask me. Here is the answer:

Wisconsin is one of 37 states with a “fetal homicide” law, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Under the 1998 law, anyone who attacks a pregnant woman and injures or kills her fetus could face life in prison.

Okay, I am going to try to say this without sounding like too much of an asshole. Attacking a pregnant woman is about the most despicable, disgusting crime a person can commit, but how can it be a crime to do harm to the unborn child if that child is not life according to the pro-choice crowd?

This was not a case of a woman being attacked, this was a case of the father of the baby not wanting the baby. If this woman had decided to have an abortion she would not have committed a crime, neither would the doctor who performed the procedure. So what this really comes down to is WHO decides to kill the unborn. If it’s the woman, it’s her choice, if it’s the man, it’s murder.

While I find the actions of this man reprehensible, how did he comitt attempted murder? He simply tried to terminate an unwanted pregnancy. But it was the man who didn’t want the pregnancy here, not the woman. What’s the difference? An unwanted pregnancy is an unwanted pregnancy, right?

If abortion is a choice than both parties should have the choice. Either it’s murder or it is not.

It’s not that hard to understand.

I can tell you how a pro-choicer would defend this — it’s about the woman being able to control her own body.

That being said, it doesn’t make any sense. The idea that a person can bestow personhood on the fetus based on whether she wants to do so, and can make or revoke this decision on a whim, is beyond cognitive reconciliation.

Don’t you get it? It’s not science that determines life, it’s a female human’s choice. Duh.

These kinds of things are proving an interesting tap dance for liberals/feminists to work around. I totally agree that if someone kills a pregnant woman that they should be charged with 2 murders but how a pro-choice person suddenly rationalizes that it is now a human life is beyond me.

I have two problems with your insolence and stupidity. Not that you care about either. First, it is not a matter of when is a baby a living being. The matter is, Miss. Patel WANTED the child, all three of them, two of which this freak managed to kill. That in itself even by a pro-baby killer such as yourself is stealing at the very least. Perhaps you should study the issue before you jump to conclusions. This women who had HER baby slaughtered within HER womb, is and has been for some time financially supporting this murderer. He is living in a home she allows him to use, she has raised their first child without asking for a penny from him, and she has every right to want and raise any child the two consciously conceive by mutual sex. Finally, this does not “boil down” to what you say, this boils down to not only attempted murder by this freak, but since the handy RU486 has a track record of killing and permanently injuring those who consume it, this could very well have been LEGALLY considered a double attempted homicide. I was looking around the internet to find stupid comments from the liberal baby slaughtering machine, we thank you for yours, you help us prove our point how liberals love to look and sound stupid by not knowing what they are talking about!

Chaz, I’m afraid you seriously mis-understood this post. I am a pro-life conservative. There was some sarcasm in this post. The point that I was trying to make was that if the man can be charged with murder for killing an unborn child, then abortion should be illegal because wouldn’t the mother and doctor that perform the abortion also be murderers?
I was trying to point out the hypocricy of the left. The pro-choice people say that abortion is a woman’s choice because she has control over her body, even though the fetus is a seperate body, yet a person can be charged with murder for committing the same act against something we are told is not yet life.
The left wants it both ways.
    I’m sorry for the mis-understanding.
I have been called many names, and I don’t mind, but a liberal. That hurts. 🙂
