Why Haven’t I Been Blogging About the Iraq War Lately?

December 20, 2007

I recently came to the realization that I have not written a post about the Iraq war since December 4th, and my Iraq war postings have been seemingly more and more infrequent. Considering the fact that I began this blog to try to awaken people to the Islamo-fascist threat that we face, and most of my early posts were war related before it morphed into more of a conservative political news oriented blog, I began to wonder why.

The answer is painfully obvious. I search the internet on a daily basis looking for topics to write about and news articles to comment on. I have dedicated my blogging life to finding liberal news items and trying to offer a counter argument to them. In the beginning the Iraq war was in the news daily, and considering that I started this blog with the intention of raising awareness of Islamo-fascism and defending the Iraq war, the Iraq war news, or liberal propaganda as I see it, made for quite a few Iraq war postings almost on a daily basis. That was fine with me as I am a staunch defender of the war and an unapologetic cynic of those that use the Koran to justify violence against the infidels. Call me a racist if you want, I don’t give a fuck. My intention here was to call out the radicals in Islam, if you can’t understand that there is a difference between radicals and moderates when it comes to Islam, that is your problem, not mine. There is a group of people who want to kill us and I want to see them die before they have the chance to succeed.

So the answer to why I have not blogged as much on the Iraq war as I had intended to is that the fact is, it is no longer a news story. It is no longer a political story, and it is no longer a campaign issue. The war has vanished almost completely from the news and the candidates have moved on to healthcare and immigration. These are issues they believe can make a difference in the campaign.

The sad part here is why the war is no longer an issue. And the reason why is because we are now winning the war. This is a time when the war should be a bigger issue than ever. We should be feeling American pride at the fact that we have ended the potential civil war in Iraq, we should feel pride in the fact that alQaeda is crippled, we should feel pride in the significant drop in attacks on American soldiers. But Democrats have hitched their wagons to America’s defeat in Iraq and now that we have turned a corner the war must be ignored. It must be ignored so that Democrats can move on and push their socialist agendas. Democrats can’t win on the war issue if we are winning the war, so instead of acknowledging we are winning they simply ignore the war altogether.

So as I search the internet for articles to post and comment on I find fewer and fewer articles on the Iraq war because the fact we are winning has to be downplayed. When the media had suicide bombings and American casualties to report every day, they did so gleefully. Now that they no longer have all the violence to report  instead of hailing our troops for the great job they are doing they choose to ignore it.

America is winning the war, Democrats are losing it, and as such the media isn’t reporting it. Without the constant barrage of negative media reports on the war, I have had nothing to defend. Our potential victory speaks for itself.

And that is why I haven’t been blogging on the Iraq war lately.

Steve, I have run into the same problem, and I was just discussing this very thing with my girlfriend last night. I was quizzing her over dinner about Iraq happenings, since she usually just reads the mainstream media news, and she had no idea what was going on. I pull news from all over for my newsletter, so I have a somewhat better idea as to what’s going on, but it boggles my mind how little of the good news makes it to the headlines.

Like the claim from the #2 US General in Iraq that as of this week 50% of Iraq is under Iraq security forces’ control.

Or that (contrary to the MSM spin) the UK pulled out, not because they were giving up, but because they were able to successfully hand over control of the entire province to Iraqi security forces… And lo-and-behold, the province didn’t descend into chaos when they withdrew.

There is lots going on over there, but the headlines only tell us when a suicide bomber kills a soldier…

A good source of information is the Iraq Sun:

    http://www.iraqsun.com/

and the Military.com Iraq News RSS:

    http://www.military.com/rss/iraq.xml

otherwise, it’s a real challenge to get any real info on the Iraq situation.

Yeah, the links are why it went to moderation. Thanks for those resourses though, I will take a look at them. Good point about the UK, the media tried to portray it as the UK abondoning the war and the US when it really should have been reported as an example of how well the war has progressed lately. It really is sad that good news isn’t being reported as news, they only consider bad news as news.
