New Hampshire Independents, it’s up to You

January 7, 2008

 Cross posted on Grizzly Groundswell

The primary is upon us. Tomorrow we head to the polls, and I want to ask all you New Hampshire Independents, what kind of country do you want? I keep hearing about this independent streak New Hampshire has and I find it ironic that the Independent voters are on the verge of voting for Obama and McCain.

I want the media to stop telling me how independent the voters of New Hampshire are when most of these independent voters are on the verge of voting for a big government liberal whose goal is to get as many people as dependent on the government as possible. The fact that a majority of the Independents are going to vote in the Democrat primary isn’t as unnerving to me as the Independent who are planning to vote in the Republican primary. The Independents voting in the Democrat primary are left leaning anyway or they wouldn’t vote for Obama in the first place. The Independent voters who are voting in the Republican party are the voters who scare me.

Independent voters who are planning on voting in the Republican primary are backing John McCain. I find this astonishing, I don’t get it. John McCain is an open borders, illegal alien amnesty giving, tax cut opposer who sides with the liberal on way to many issues.

So now I am sending a call out to all you Independents and I ask you, is this the man you want in the White house? A man who would raise your taxes? A man who would grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens? A man who would give in state tuition to illegals? A man who blocked judicial nominations because they weren’t liberal enough?

New Hampshire Independents take a step back and think about what you are about to do. Do not vote for John McCain. Do not open the door back up for Mike Huckabee to walk through. Our future could be in your hands, vote wisely, we are counting on you.

The problem is that there is no good candidate for independants to support!!! All of this years candidates are just more run of the mill politicians. Edwards is a politician who was a claims lawyer (the worst kind of lawyer) before that. He sued doctors for making tiny mistakes when they have the most stressful jobs in the world. Obama is just another politician who happens to be black. Clinton is a politician who happens to be a woman. And as for the republicans, whatever they say, they are mostly the same all around. The differences come in with looks (Guliani is way to ugly to be president), illigal immigration (true McCain is an amnesty giving liberal in conservative clothing), and religious piety (DO NOT make a preacher/minister/whatever POTUS aka Huckabee). There is no one for an independant to ethically support.

Independents have good choices. Why not look at Ron Paul? He’s got a lot of momentum, and support from all quarters. Or, if you’re still stuck on the Iraq War (though I can’t see why), then give Duncan Hunter a look. Even though he hasn’t caught a lot of attention yet, he’s on target on many issues. Don’t let the media pick your candidates. Do your own research. We have a free market of ideas now!

I can handle Romney, if you said Huckabee or McCain, I might’ve had to set my hair on fire ;-)!! I was actually rooting for Romney tonight since I so dislike McCain so I was bummed by the outcome.
