New Hampshire Governor John Lynch to Lawmakers “No New Spending”

storyjohnlynch-2.jpg As can be read here, New Hampshire governor, John Lynch has warned New Hampshire lawmakers not to pass any new spending this year. He claims he will veto any new spending bill because New Hampshire can’t afford it. Let me be the first to say thank you Governor Lynch. Yes, thank you for finally realizing how irresponsible, stupid and short-sided your last budget was. Even if you still won’t say it out loud. You are still saying that you are fiscally responsible even as you are forced to admit that New Hampshire is projected to have a $50 million shortfall.

Governor Lynch raised spending in the state by 17.5% last year alone, now not only is there no more money he can spend this year, he will have to cut almost 6% from the budget. That is still a whopping 11.5% increase. Republican lawmakers tried to warn our liberal tax and spend government that the budget would never be able to be fully funded, but it was met with scepticism. The revenue estimates done by Governor Lynch were inflated and let’s just say, extremely optimistic. Too optimistic.

Here is a statement that was released by Ferus Cullen, chairman of the New Hampshire GOP upon hearing the announcement by John Lynch:

“Last year Gov. Lynch signed a budget that increased spending by 17.5%, while ignoring the warnings of Republican legislators who argued that his revenue estimates were unrealistically optimistic. The appropriate time for the Governor to consider fiscal restraint would have been before he created this impending crisis.”

While the governor claims he will veto any more spending, there is still that donkey( I would say elephant, but they got swept out in the last election) in the room that noone is talking about. EDUCATION FUNDING.Our brilliant governor still has to come up with a measly $400 million for his insane education funding proposal that will drive this state into bankruptcy. And that is where and how his, and the rest of the Blue Hampshire’s Democrats nefarious little plan will finally come to fruition in New Hampshire. That plan is the sales and/or income tax. The sword of Damocles is hanging over our heads and it will fall shortly.

Don’t blame me, I voted for Coburn!

Well, all you hope is that the people of NH realize what’s going on and vote responsibly next time. The one thing I hear people say when they talk about moving from Mass. is that the property taxes are ridiculous in NH. Governor Lynch doesn’t care?
