New Hampshire to Recount Democrat Ballots Today

January 16, 2008

Dennis Kucinich has asked New Hampshire for a recount of the primary ballots, he handed over the money to pay for the costs, and today the re-count will begin. I am not sure what he hopes to accomplish, below is his statement:

“Serious and credible reports, allegations, and rumors have surfaced in the past few days,” Kucinich said in a statement on his Web site. “It is imperative that these questions be addressed in the interest of public confidence in the integrity of the election process and the election machinery — not just in New Hampshire, but in every other state that conducts a primary election.”

He believes there were irregularities between ballots counted by hand and ballots counted by machine. Perhaps he is hoping a re-count will give him a total of 3910 votes instead of the 3901 he did get.

If the recount doesn’t provide him with the results he hopes for he can stop the recount and get his money back.

There is always some type of fraud or conspiracy with these people. The American people are too stupid to vote and count votes, according Democrats who, when they lose always claim it wasn’t their fault, the system is corrupt.

Dennis Kucinich is concerned that the Martian vote wasn’t calculated correctly. He may be the NH front runner if the Mars vote works in his favor…

I agree that Kucinich’s request seems foolish. I haven’t heard any credible account of voting inaccuracies. Yes, there was a discrepancy between hand-count ballot areas and machine-count areas, but that goes back several cycles. I didn’t hear such conspiracy talk about Bradley vs. Gore or Kerry vs. Dean in New Hampshire.

That there are doubts among a sizable percentage of the electorate about our elections is a very serious problem though. True or not, it does put our democracy in doubt.

The martian voters have been disenfranchised! 🙂 How many of these Martian voters are illegal aliens?

Why is it that the people who proclaim themselves “patriotic” citizens dont applaud when someone wants to verify that the very foundation of our democracy – the right of every citizen to have their vote count – is indeed intact and flawless.

If the votes were accurately counted by the Diebold systems, it will help to show the world that our elections are above fraud. A beacon of light on the hill. And if there are discrepancies, dont we want to arrest the perpetrators?

I don’t think that it puts our democracy in doubt, but it does put the integrity of individuals in doubt. I, in no way, think that there is any sort of government conspiracy going on, nor do I feel threatened in any way.

If there are people or elements that are doing dishonest work here, then I would like to see them caught and punished… But to cast doubt on our overall rights and freedom to vote seems a bit over the top.

If Kucinich wants to verify things, good on him. It’s his money after all. But Steve is right, the constant accusations of conspiracy and allegations of misdoing from the dems gets a bit old. it seems to be all we hear from them – and somehow they rarely turn up anything.
