Cindy Sheehan is in Egypt Protesting on Behalf of Terrorists

February 14, 2008

Just when you thought you heard it all when it came to Cindy Sheehan comes this story. Cindy Sheehan is in Egypt protesting in favor of suspected terrorists.

Members of the Muslim Brotherhood will be going on trial in Eqypt for terrorism and Sheehan doesn’t think it is fair.

Here is the Brotherhood’s motto, according to Wikipedia:

Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope

Here is how the Brotherhood feels about women, again from Wikipedia:

On the issue of women and gender the Muslim Brotherhood interprets Islam quite strictly. Its founder called for “a campaign against ostentation in dress and loose behavior,” “segregation of male and female students,” a separate curriculum for girls, and “the prohibition of dancing and other such pastimes

Here are some of the activities that the Brotherhood are alleged to be involved with:

  • The Brotherhood is widely believed to have had a `secret apparatus` responsible for terrorist attacks in Egypt including the assassination of Egypt’s prime minister in 1948.
  • The Brotherhood currently advocates suicide bombing attacks on civilians to fight Zionism, and its Palestinian wing Hamas targets both civilians and the military in Israel.
  • Newsweek journalists Mark Hosenball and Michael Isikoff report connections between al-Qaeda and Brotherhood figures Mamoun Darkazanli and Youssef Nada.
  • A similar article in the Financial Times reported financial links between 74-year-old Swiss Muslim convert, businessman and neo-Nazi Ahmed Huber, and MB members, notably Youssef Nada, Ali Himmat and who founded the Al Taqwa Bank. According to the U.S. government, Al Taqwa “has long acted as financial advisers to al-Qaeda.” Huber himself is noted in Europe for his links with alleged neo-Nazi and other far right elements. He is reported to have “confirmed” having “had contact with associates of Osama bin Laden at an Islamic conference in Beirut,” whom he called `very discreet, well-educated, very intelligent people.`
  • Abdul Rahman al-Amoudi, an “expert in the art of deception” was an influential lobbyist and founder and head of the Brotherhood-linked American Muslim Council before being convicted and sentenced to 23 years in prison for conspiracy to murder Saudi Prince Abdullah at the behest of Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi.

Cindy Sheehan has this to say about the suspected terrorist who are to go on trial:

“I am here to protest the trial of civilians in front of a military tribunal as this is a violation to international law,”

I am not sure why I let the actions of this one obviously deranged woman bother me, but I do. Just think about this scenario for a second. Cindy Sheehan is no longer just protesting the war. While I may disagree with her war protest, that was her right. Cindy Sheehan is now protesting on behalf of terrorists, this is different and much worse that protesting a war.

Cindy Sheehan has gone from war protester to terrorist sympathiser, she is embarrassing her son’s name, and demeaning what he fought for. She has now gone well beyond what I find reasonable, responsible, and acceptable. She has now entered Jane Fonda territory.

She’s entering another danger zone by being in Egypt and trying to make waves. Egypt is a strict country with some really stiff penalties. Should she be crossing the wrong people, I doubt she’ll get a very good reception.

I also doubt the Bush Administration would work hard to save her butt. I hope she has some good hip waders as it might be getting messy there.

I’m sure “Hanoi Cindy” just enjoys being in the public eye. I just wonder if she was this crazy before her son -God rest his soul- went into the service and died for his beloved country , or if the moveon crowd made her take that last turn. Opposing the war was her 1st amendment right, but defending murderers, in my opinion that borders on treason.

The irony of her idiocy raises this question. What will she be thinking as she waits in the TSA and Customs line ?

your quote from Cindy actually disproves the rest of what you say. And you did note that they were “suspected” terrorists.

She is protesting the trial of CIVILIANS in front of a MILITARY tribunal. Think of her like the ACLU, they may annoy you, but they fight for PRINCIPLES and CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS that ultimately benefit the rest of us.

Either we believe in innocent till proven guilty or we dont.
If given precedent, what’s to stop any citizen from being arrested on false charges and tried in front of the military behind closed doors? The government has a history of falsely slandering people. If you ask me, the government is the problem, not Cindy Sheehan, no matter how annoying she may be.

We can’t let ourselves get so emotional that we suspend our principles. God knows murderers should not be coddled but the rights we give them are the rights that all of us feel we should deserve if accused of a crime and our Constitution granted us this right specifically because of how monarchs used to treat people. Otherwise, the Bill of Rights and Constitution were written in vain.

You don’t say, did you miss the fact that her protest is in Egypt? What does the bill of rights, or the constitution have to do with Egypt? This is not a case of AMERICANS being tried in military tribunals.
Cindy Sheehan is protesting on behalf of people who would stone her for being seen in public with a man who is not her husband, let alone speak out. Don’t you see the irony here?

It’s hard top argue the point that YDS presents, especially when she sides with such a socially conscious group as the ACLU – Anti Christian Liars United… that’s them, right? So Cindy Sheehan dishonors the sacrifice her son made in the defense of His country to pull a Jane Fonda with terrorists that would stone her to death for what she IS as soon as they have used her to mislead other ignorant, uninformed people… is that what you’re saying?

I for one, support her right to ignorantly march into the camp of the enemy that her son died to defend her against, even if it costs her her LIFE. It is her RIGHT to die representing whatever it is she thinks she is standing up for.

I read your “About Me” statement, Mpinkeyes, and I strongly agree, especially in regards to your ststement “I don’t believe government should make laws to protect people from their own stupidity. In other words the Nanny State. I don’t believe the government has the right to regulate smoking in private businesses, seat-belts in cars, trans-fats, and the like. ”

Stupid people, Ms Sheehan should have the RIGHT to put themselves in positions that can cost them their lives. I feel that if we WARNED you in advance, that should be more than enough. We shouldn’t feel compelled to call out the army to rescue you afterwards.

For all its flaws, we live in the greatest country on the face of the earth BECAUSE we allow everyone to voice their opinions, whether they support us or not. This is FREEDOM, and is not found in too many other places. Cindy doesn’t like it here, she ALSO has the FREEDOM to pack her bags and go wherever else she wants. Just don’t expect me to open the door for her after she wipes her feet on our flag on the way out.

I know I should feel sorry for her and recognize that the loss of her son has driven her out of her mind, but the damage that she has done to this country and our soldiers are so great that I just can’t bring myself to do so.

It would be a horrible wake-up call for her if she finally realized what she has done just as her “former friends” were getting ready to give her the “Nick Berg” treatment. THAT is an image I will never be able to forget… Ah, but those horrible waterborders in Guantanamo Bay… I bet there were even days they didn’t let them have their special diet!

I don’t support unprovoked violence in any form, but until someone shows me a way that we can protect ourselves as MY mother told me as a child, “invite your enemy home for milk and cookies and then you can be friends”… (which I KNOW doesn’t work), I will continue to support our country against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic the way we have for over 200 years… “Peace through superior firepower”.

Sorry this was so long, but it’s a VERY sensitive issue for me, having served 8 years ADAF, and lost friends at the WTC on 9/11.

Hi mpinkeyes, for some reason I thought it had something to do with people the US ships over to Syria and Egypt to be questioned and what not. I saw something on 60 minutes about that last year. But yes, I do see the irony.

Does she even have the right to protest in Egypt? And as a woman? She’s basically campaigning for people who if freed would see her as a second-class citizen.

That said, as someone who has lived in Africa, I think too many leaders are quick to use the word “terrorist” for anyone who opposes a government. It’s hard to know from here what is really happening over there so I withdraw my intial comment and will just keep my mouth shut on this!

btw, I find your blog interesting.

Sorry about the misunderstanding, you don’t say, and thanks for the compliment. You are probably right about how other governments imprison people though. They could be jailed simply for being opponents of the government, but the Muslim Brotherhood does seem to have some shaky ties.

Sheehan is a rotten, Islamofascist-loving, leftist-Nazi cunt — not to mention a shrill, psychotic piece of crap. Of course she has the right to spew her garbage, but the left-wing media is at fault for giving her a podium.

That really IS the irony – should Cindy Sheehan change her tune and speak up over there AGAINST her “friends”, I think she would learn rather quickly about one of the freedoms her son died to defend.

She prolly wouldn’t be lucky enough to just get GULOG.
