Barack Obama on His Grandmother: “She is a Typical White Person”

March 20, 2008

obama.jpg Barack Obama has been trying to dig himself out of the hole he has dug for himself because of his very close relationship with reverend Jeremiah Wright. The more he tries to dig out, the deeper he gets.

In his speech about race relations, Obama admitted that he had indeed been in the church to hear some of Jeremiah Wright’s controversial comments. This is the opposite of what he said just to days earlier, when he denied ever hearing any of these comments. It is also a 180 degree turn from his statement that his church isn’t controversial. Obama has been caught in two lies on this story already.

He refused to distance himself from his racist, anti-American spiritual advisor, pastor, and great friend. Instead he said it was the fault of society that the good reverend was forced into being a racist. He even threw his grandmother under the bus, saying she was a racist. In other words, blame whitey.

Today Obama tried to twist his way out of the fact that he threw ole Grammy under the bus. This is what he had to say:

But she is a typical white person who, uh, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know there’s a reaction that’s been been bred into our experiences that don’t go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way and that’s just the nature of race in our society.

A typical white person? SCREW YOU Barack Obama. Not all white people are afraid of black people, you bigot. As you can see, I am getting pretty pissed off here. This man is the person who said that he sees not a red state America and a blue state America, but a United States of America. Really? It seems to me that he really doesn’t see a red America and a blue America, he sees a black America and a white America, and not a United States of America.

Barack Obama has obviously taken the reverend Wright’s racist sermons to heart. How can we expect Obama to unite a country while he holds this resentment to white people in his heart.

Well if he does not win the nomination perhaps he and his “Not so proud of America” wife can get enough out of the campaign money to help with the house mortgage now that his real estate mentor is in trouble. I wish you would peek at my website to see the world’s first picture of a Boneheaded Mistake.

Sorry George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, but it seems to be the best we can do this time.

No-no. Go and read that speech again. He did distance himself from Wright. No denying that. He denounced what Wright said as completely and utterly wrong. Read the speech. What he did try to say as well is that we must also dig deep and ask why does this type of racism still exist – without in any way saying that it justified what he said. And it is not an easy answer. And let me tell you something else. My dad was a hardened racist. Bloody hell, he was the head of political prisoners under Apartheid. And I was an anti-Apartheid activist. I ask you. Should I condemn what he did and what he said? Yes. And I did. But I also tried to understand what made him like this. So full of hatred. And you know what took the most courage and what was the most difficult? To forgive him. He was still my father. That is why I respect Obama for what he said. You condem the sin, but never the sinner. So be a bit more respectful of how difficult this is before you start with the “bad-Obama” stuff please. If you want to know the story of me and my dad – http://angryafrican.net/2008/02/13/an-accidental-activist-my-dad-was-an-ass/

When Jesse says it it ok, but when Grandma says it is not OK.

Jesse “There is nothing more painful to me…than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relief.”

Obama about Grandma: “she is a typical white person…fear of black men who passed by her on the street”

If the above is acceptable is it acceptable to say that typical black people eat lots of fried chicken?

ouch…”a typical white person”? I think Obama didn’t quite say that as he wished. I don’t think he’s racist. The man is white! 50% white, 50% black. He’s as white as he is black. If he hates whites then he hates himself.

I still haven’t seen anything his pastor said that was racist. Rich, white MEN (not women) still do control the major institutions in the USA. That’s a fact. That’s not a statement to elicit hate, IMO. It’s a statement pointing out the enormous difference in stature of whites and blacks. I haven’t heard any other statement that was made about white people. Frankly, I’m surprised this is a big deal. Actually, maybe I shouldn’t be, race makes Americans very uncomfortable. And America is still unable to see a 1/2 white man as anything but “black”.

His pastor said unpleasant things but the only thing I saw that was false was the bit about AIDS and the gov’t passing out drugs. But as I’ve said before, I don’t trust government too much. This is the same government that played a role in assassinating the democratically elected Prime Minister of the the D.R.C, then helped install and SUPPORT a dictator. This is not fiction, its fact and the men who took part are still alive today. I personally have an older friend who works in gov’t who met one of the people involved. We all can read the news and see how this country is now. We put Saddam Hussein in power and sold him US aircraft and supplies he used in gassing his own people. We played a part in making Iran the country it is now.

This doesn’t mean I’m not proud to be an American, but I refuse to be an American who turns a blind eye to the terrible things my country has ostensibly done for me. Criticism is what makes the USA great. We have the freedom to do so and people should not be ostracized for making criticisms we don’t agree with.

I agree with the above poster. This is stupid. Obama IS half-white. He didn’t even say the typical white person was racist, he was saying even the typical NON-RACIST white person syill has unconscious sterotypes and fear. That’s just the truth, man, and why can’t a WHITE person say it?

And now this other guy, Meeks? The hole is getting way over BHO’s head now. I think it’s quicksand. I don’t know exactly how Hillary will pull it off, but she’ll figure something out. She’s very crafty. Elliot who? And “typical white person”? that pisses me off a lot more than any ridiculous garbage spewed by Jwright, no matter how vitriolic or incindiary. So 1/2 of his blood family can go rot somewhere for all he cares? So now he’s all black all of a sudden? The bell tolls Barack, and it tolls for thee.

We already knew the Clinton’s were liars, so Obama seemed like a fresh, welcome change. But now we find he is a liar too. I have a problem with taking young childrent to a church where the pastor makes obscene gestures while talking about Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinski and preaches lies and hatred toward whites. Obama spoke of “typical” white people. This is something he is ill equipped to comment on. He served grandma up on a silver platter knowing she loved him unconditionally. Where was dad in his life? Racism in whites is not bred, but grows from life’s experiences. But to see well educated families with young children attending services at a “church” where such hatred and lies abound explains the state of race relations today. Michele Obama came off as a bitter black woman early on so to find her attending this particular church is not surprising, but I thought her husband was smarter than that. Unfortunately, she also wears the pants in the family.

paulanthony60 – they would have reported on it if it was Hillary. As they did when it happened to Bill back in 1992. It is interesting that it only happens to Democrats. Also interesting the dates these people checked his passport information. And interesting that they did NOT work for the state department. They worked for 2 companies that they are not prepared to name. And what was the “dicipline” they took out on the third person? I blogged about it on my views on the weekly news. And some truths on the Mac trip to Iran. Oh sorry – I mean Iraq. http://angryafrican.net/2008/03/21/views-on-the-weekly-news-2/

Angryafrican, he did denounce the statements of the reverend, so yes he did distance himself from the statements. But he refused to denounce the reverend himself, that is where my problem is. And as seeingmoreclearlynow said, he brings his children to hear what this man says. I just don’t know how we will ever get past race if children are being exposed to people like reverend Wright. Wright preached as though no progress has been made since he was a child, and believe that is far from the truth.
