Could Al Gore Still Win the Democrat Nomination?
I know how stupid the title of this post sounds, but could he? It is possible, at least according to one Democrat super delegate.
“If it (the nomination process) goes into the convention, don’t be surprised if someone different is at the top of the ticket,” Mahoney said.
If either Clinton or Obama suggested to a deadlocked convention a ticket of Gore-Clinton or Gore-Obama, the Democratic Party would accept it, Mahoney said.
Every day the Democrat race gets more cloudy, and because of this it gets more interesting. Can you imagine if Al Gore were to actually become the Democrat presidential nominee over Hillary and Obama? A man who isn’t even running for president, at least not publicly? This would be too good to even consider.
Could Al Gore be working behind the scenes to persuade Democrat super delegates to vote for him? I wouldn’t be surprised. Would this be a likely scenario? I highly doubt it. But as the Democrats push on, trying to desperately come up with a candidate while not tearing apart the party perhaps this seems like a reasonable option. Unless you are either Hillary or Obama, one of which will have settled for a vice presidential bid to someone who isn’t even running for president, and the other, who will be left off the ballot altogether.
Likely, NO. Delicious, YES.

I could sit still for a Gore/Obama ticket a lot better than I could with a Hillary ticket with anyone.

I’m sorry, but Mahoney is an idiot, this is completely absurd. When I saw this, I thought you have got to be kidding me. This is 100% unlikely because it would piss everyone off in the Democrat party.

I know this is ridiculous, that’s why I didn’t give it too much time. But it does show us an example of how splintered the Democrat party could become! It is fun to watch.

Is Mahoney in the carbon credit shell game? Or are some of the Dems just trying to “out-moonbat” each other? Yeah, ok, Algore will be president when hell (or the earth) freezes over.

If hell freezes over and Al Gore does become president we will have to pay carbon offsets to help warm hell back up. After all hell freezing over will be atributed to global warming. Everything else is.

An unlikely scenario but what an interesting thought….

Gore/Obama may be unlikely but Hillary/Obama is even less unlikely
speaking of unlikely
How about a man who was a shiftless drifter with a drinking problem until he was 40 and then a serial failure in business who then becomes Governor of Texas then President. ?
Nah… that could never happen. lol

You might call that unlikely, I might call it inspirational, proof that in America anything is possible. At least he gave up drinking before he ran for office. Something Teddy and Patrick Kennedy did not. 🙂

For those of you scoffing at this article (although nothing is more “American” than American youth acting like assholes on the internet, right?), you can put your money where your mouth is online. You can get down some BIG, and I mean BIG, money on him not winning the Democratic nomination at 1/25 (a 4% return on investment) at Matchbook.com and other political exchanges. Someone is seeding these exchanges that sees value in Gore, and I’m willing to venture a guess that they know more than we do.
Although unlikely, Gore not becoming the nominee is far from a certainty. Cheers!
