Hillary Clinton Didn’t Pay Health Care Premiums For Her Campaign Staff
Hillary Clinton believes that all Americans have the right to health care. She has vowed to make all of us working stiffs pay for the health care of those who either do not want it or can’t afford it. Personally, I can think of better ways to use the money Hillary is going to take away from me to provide health care for someone I don’t know. I would like to make further provisions for MY family rather than have the government force me to provide for someone else’s family. It is not my responsibility to provide for other people’s families, it is their responsibility to provide for themselves.
Hillary has no problem spending other people’s money, she just has a little problem spending her own. The woman who wants us to provide all Americans with health care doesn’t have the same desire for herself. Hillary Clinton has left the health care premiums for her campaign staff unpaid.
Among the debts reported this month by Hillary Rodham Clinton’s struggling presidential campaign, the $292,000 in unpaid health insurance premiums for her campaign staff stands out.
This is just too ironic, isn’t it. The excuse of her campaign not having enough money to pay for health care rings hollow if you ask me. It rings hollow to me because Democrats keep reminding us that the economy is bad. They keep reminding us that the middle class is being squeezed, and that Americans are not as well of as they were in the 1990’s. In spite of all of these struggles the middle class supposedly has, we will still be expected to pick up the health care costs of the uninsured through more taxes. Putting a further burden on the class that Democrats say is already stretched to the limits.
So I don’t want to hear that the Clinton campaign can’t afford to pay for health care for others. That excuse will not work for middle class families when their paycheck takes a hit in order to fund health care, and it should not work for Hillary either.

This is already an old story, you Hillary hating homo.

I am not a homo, I am married and have two children. I do hate Hillary though. That comment was not quite politically correct and very insensitive. I would expect more from a liberal such as yourself.

I heard this on Sean Hannity’s show today and I couldn’t help but shake my head in disbelief. Unbelievable!!!

In the highly unlikely event of Hillary winning the nomination, that would be about the only reason I’d vote for McCain.
Better a nitwit liar than a megalomaniac communist by a slim margin but I can’t see how she can mathematically make it so I’m spared that indignity.
Two questions to ponder….
“Hillary hating homo” – I could be wrong but don’t the majority of homo’s lean heavily to the Democrat side? Because that would make this insult even stranger.
Are you aware of any source that discloses the credit score of a candidate for office? It is used for everything else… Follow up question to that – Has anyone anywhere calculated the credit score of Congressional members based on their voting record and earmarks during their time creating the budget in the USA?

man what is with the ppl trolling this site? calling you a white supremacist and homo?
I find it very interesting that Sen. Clinton is lagging in her duties to her staff on the health care front. This is supposed to be “HER” issue. She “owns” health care. tsk tsk
re Gary’s remark, I read in an email mailing once that congressmen typically are not the “upstanding” people we think they are. They have bad credit just like other folks, file for bankruptcy, etc.

I think it was the alliteration that “foo” was going for. Even so, pretty ridiculous. “FOO”??? Are you a statue of a dog? Anyway, why would anyone just blindly go along with and support someone who has been caught lying over and over again? Let’s remember, foolks, POTUS=Leader of the Free World.

I’m sorry, but I doubt McCain and Obama are paying for healthcare as these workers are temporary and often do not work full-time; most are even volunteers.
BTW,
SHE IS FOR NATIONAL HEALTHCARE (LIKE IN CANADA) WHICH MEANS IT SUITS HER PERSONALITY JUST FINE TO NOT OFFER SOMETHING SHE BELIEVES SHOULD BE A PERK OF U.S. CITIZENSHIP–JUST LIKE IT IS IN RICH COUNTRIES LIKE SWEDEN–AND CANADA.
Canada is number 4 or 5 when it comes to better places to live, and the U.S. is number 12–according to 2008 rankings.

Okay Captain America,
About your need to provide only for your own family:
Did you know military defense means you are provinding for a COUNTRY already. In economics, military defence is a free rider service.
I guess you want us to all have guns and shoot foreigners since you don’t want to provide free rider services to citizens–WHO PAY TAXES FOR SERVICES.
So what is your problem with healthcare?
Could it be that you have government healtcare and don’t have to deal with this actual scenario:
My husband pays $130 every two weeks for good insurance. He makes $37,000. I had to be hospitalized for one week.
What did Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina do?
IT HAS REJECTED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY CLAIMS–EVEN ONE FOR A ROUTINE PHYSICAL THAT IS FREE! = $24K plus debt that has ruined my chances at a bank job.
The result–HOURS of my day spent on the phone with hospital staff and insurance people.
Did anything good come of my efforts?
My bills went to collection and ruined my good credit.
And that fine sir, is why the U.S. is 12 (despite being a world power) and lowly Canada is ranked 4 /5.
I paid for insurance, but insurance hasn’t paid a dime.
Tell me why?
Oh, I already know why.
Insurance is a scam people!

I have lived in Montreal the last 2 years (am American) and let me tell you what the first primary care physician I was able to find (after over 1/2 year) told me when he found out I came from Boston: (paraphrasing after he raved about MGH) “you probably will be disappointed with our health care system “. He went on to tell me that if I needed any ultrasounds, etc, he would advise me to try a private clinic in Westmount (wealthy anglo town near Montreal) because getting this in Montreal would take a long time. He also mentioned the hospitals here had very old equipment. The impression he gave me is that though everyone gets care, the care is just average to mediocre care.
I’ve been seriously ill here only once and it was a nightmare. Sure I got treated at the ER, after having to go and wait 2 days in a row and having to wait 1 week before I could get some tests done. I had to pay for the tests out of pocket (yes, people here still have to pay for blood tests, dental, eye care, etc out of pocket unless your company pays for it). As for healthcare, I “pay” for it by being taxed at a rate that would make most Americans cry. And I still pay for dental and eye care (matched by company).
The US needs a way to make health care cheaper and this should include focusing on preventative care. Forcing people to get it (i.e. fining them if they don’t) is not “universal”. From what I’ve read, mandates will benefit insurance companies. They have financial incentive to have more people paying them. But will care and treatment be better?
If life in Canada is better, it’s because more people live in the same “class” and there is probably less disparity here.
There are way less people here than in the US so I don’t think comparisons are fair.

You don’t say, I am a gay white supremist, and I’m getting angry. There is nothing worse than a gay white supremist. 🙂 On a serious note though, I have heard of the horror stories in Canada you have written about. Why does everybody think that anything, including health care, would run smoother or be less expensive if the government took it over. It seems to me the opposite would be true.

carolinamaine, why do you have a problem with me wanting to keep more of my money so I can better care for my family?
If I had government healthcare why would I be opposed to it? That argument makes no sence, and furhtermore don’t bitch about having to pay $130 every two weeks, that sounds like a bargain to me. I pay $100 every week for average healthcare. It sounds like you have it made to me.
I don’t have a problem with healthcare, it just isn’t the government’s job to provide it. I pay for mine, others can pay for their’s.
And where the fuck did you get the notion that I want everybody to get guns ans shoot foreigners? You just pulled that notion out of you ass. That is not even relevent to this post and just plain stupid.

You all can debate this issue until you hate each other. Healthcare will never stray from the path it is on. Your Senators + congress are all bought + paid for by healthcare. They would be short on campaign money if they bucked the system in place. The presidents main funding even came from healthcare. Single pay dont have much a chance to make it. They dont even let doctors or nurses be a part of the conversation. Sad But True. The debate will never reach Washington, Baucus even says it will never be a single pay, that it is hopeless.
