Arnold Schwarzenegger Says the Republican Party needs to Move Left

May 18, 2008

Rino Arnold Schwarzenegger believes that the Republican party needs to move to the left. This is really nothing new, but with the emergence of John McCain as the Republican nominee that appears to be where the Republican party is headed.

Here is what Arnold had to say recently:

“The Republican idea is a great idea, but we can’t go and get stuck with just the right wing,” Schwarzenegger said. “Let’s let the party come all the way to the center. Let those people be heard as much as the right. Let it be the big tent we’ve talked about.”

By moving to the center Republicans would be moving further left. The Republican party isn’t ruled by or “stuck with” the right wing as Arnold says. If it were, Mike Huckabee would be the disastrous nominee instead of John McCain. If either party is ruled by the fringe wingers it is the Democrats. They are controlled by the moveon.org types, just let someone in the Democrat party suggest that the Democrats need to move to the center and watch the insuing outrage. Let Obama or Hillary play to the center and watch the fireworks begin. The truth is that with John McCain as the disastrous Republican nominee the party has already shifted left.

 Arnold goes on:

“Let’s invade and let’s cross over that (political) center,” he said. “The issues that they’re talking about? Let them be our issues, and let the party be known for that.”

Now he is saying we need to cross over the center. That would put us on the left, wouldn’t it? He wants us to make the left’s issues the right’s issues as well. I have news for you Arnold, the issues belong to both parties. We are just on different sides of these issues. By crossing over, Republicans would be giving up what they supposedly believe in.

When a person is willing to compromise his beliefs, he has none. The Republican party is now seemingly willing to compromise their beliefs. How else can you explain the nomination of John McCain.

I am tired of fighting for a party that won’t fight for themselves, that’s all I have the patience for tonight. This is the last straw, I am leaving the Republican party. Stay tuned.

And people wonder why I’m fed up?

It’s people like Arnold who have driven me away from the Republican party. In a time when principle should be embraced and not sacrificed for any reason – even if it means being less green and sexy – why are the Republicans moving left?

I don’t get it. I really don’t. McCain, Arnold, Pawlenty, Crist… These people are driving the bus off the cliff with the pedal to the metal.

All this talk of “center” makes me physically ill. We don’t need a center. That’s contrary to everything political, unless of course you’re trying to create one big happy family and take away the voter’s right to choose something different. After all, if we are indeed stuck in a two-party system and both parties are carbon copies of one another, it’s a win-win for them and we lose no matter what.

How’s that for a bleak future?

It is so frustrating Ryan, I know how you feel. I have been working on a past about leaving the Republican party that I have now posted. I am out.
It is good to hear from you again, I hope you are almost ready to jump back into the fight. There are still many issues to rail against even if we have no party to help us along the way.

Thanks for the TRUTH about Mike Huckabee. He fooled so many religious people in NH it wasn’t funny….

His whole campaign was run by Richard Haass of the CFR for crying out loud!

otherwise he would have gotten NO traction. This was their insurance against Ron Paul, the TRUE conservative.

Finally the truth about the constant corruption of the GOP is revealed and christianed in high flying colors. The outmoded ways of conservatism don’t work anymore, we need to leave the war, fight global warming, tax the really really rich again, and provide health care. these are good liberal principles which everyone is starting to embrace.
