New Jersey May Ban Baggy Pants
Evidently New Jersey lawmakers don’t have many pressing issues on their plate as it is now a priority of theirs to ban baggy pants. Things must be moving just fine in New Jersey if this is how they have chosen to spend their time.
How much time and taxpayer dollars are going to be wasted telling people what they can and can’t wear? Don’t get me wrong, I think this “fashion statement” looks stupid and the people who do it look like morons, but who is the government to tell these people that they can’t look stupid if they want to?
There is no indecency here other than the indecency of their judgement. I am sure that isn’t a proper use of the word indecency, and I am just as sure that someone will correct me, but I think everybody understands the point that I am trying to make.
This is what happens with the nanny staters. First they tell you where and when you can smoke. Then they regulate what you can eat. Next they tell you what you can wear. The list will just keep growing and growing.

I think the reason why New Jersey (and other places) are trying to bring such a law is beyond the fact that the look is “ridiculous”. I think that in the process they want to prevent delinquency. While they are many other outrageous clothing attires such as girls in tight jeans with exposed thongs or guys still wearing speedos in 2008, none of these people pose a threat to society like young guys dressing up like rappers.
Banning baggy pants is just a disguise for the NJ lawmakers to hide their real intentions, which is to destroy the hip hop culture which they feel is a bad influence on America’s youth. I don’t necessarily agree with such a law, I’m just making an observation.
