Why is the Left so Hateful?

The left is supposed to be the compassionate ones. The left supposedly cares so much about human rights. The left is righteous and all accepting. Why then are they so full of hate? Why are they so angry and hostile to people who do not share their same views on the issues?
This post was inspired by a recent comment I received to one of my posts, Democrat Solution for the Oil Crisis? Stop Driving. This comment was written by someone who called him/her self Fuck you.
Here is what Fuck You had to say about my post:
You are a fucking idiot if you believe that increasing oil supply will bring the price down. Here’s how it works numbnuts: domestic oil production peaked in the 1970s. Get a fucking clue. If I piss a quart of oil will that bring the price down? Fuck no. Same with your bullshit “increase supply” scheme. Demand will always outpace supply unless you want to nuke China and India. This is an irrefutable fact but right wing dipshits such as yourself seem to have a problem with irrefutable facts.
Here is some simple math for your simple brain: If I add five barrels of oil, but a chinese person buys ten barrels of oil because they don’t pay the actual cost of oil (because it is subsidized by the govt) then HOW THE FUCK DOES THAT BRING THE PRICE DOWN FOR US?!
Do us all a favor and just shoot yourself in the head please.
The post that resulted in the above comment was about how Democrats really have offered no solutions to the energy problem but in an effort to appear as if they were doing something called for a pork ladened bill to provide more public transportation. I called the bill a do-nothing crock of shit bill . And it is. This was not an attack on a person but rather my feelings on a bill that was being proposed. Yet look at the reaction it drew from this person with whom my only disagreement with is over policies. This person told me I should kill myself, among other various insults. Why the hatred? What was my crime? It was a crime of disagreement. A policy or political disagreement, but because I disagree with this liberal I should shoot myself in the head.
This comment has made me ask myself, why is the left so hateful? How did the left get to the point where a person who disagrees with them is a fucking moron and should put a gun to their head and shoot themselves? This does not sound like somebody who is supposed to be so understanding and caring of other people. The left wants us to believe that they are caring and compassionate while the right is full of bigotry and hatred, yet disagree with them politically and you are nothing but a numbnuts, a simpleton , and a cretin. We just don’t understand how smart they are so we should just shoot ourselves. The world would be better off without our hatred according to the left. Yet the left is apparently intolerant of the right’s opinions. It is the left who is full of hatred with this type of comment.
I will be the first to admit that sometimes my posts get heated and I use harsh words, but my posts are never personal. My posts deal with my opinions on issues and the candidates positions on the issues. I have strong opinions and I express them here, I find this a great forum for debate. Debate is what makes America great. The fact that people can have differing opinions on issues and we can elect representation based on those issues is a basic and most important fact and right on the founding of America.
But then you get the comment from Fuck You who is more interested in personal attacks just because my opinion differs from his. He offers nothing but insults. So again I ask, why is the left so hateful?
Why is the party that is all caring, and tolerant of other people so intolerant of an opinion? It appears that they are accepting of all behaviors but if you have a differing opinion from them than you should just kill yourself. Does anybody else see the hypocrisy of this?

I have been on the receiving end as well of the shrill voice of the left. There is a lot of anger among the left. Whatever the reason for it is, it isn’t pretty.
Sadly, however, I have been attacked from the right as well and sometimes even more viciously.
I think many Americans have forgotten how to debate ideas. They also seem to be unable to understand that debating is not a personal attack, it is a laying out of one’s ideas and positions and in the end, we might have to “agree to disagree.”

I don’t mind it, I kind of enjoy it. It lets me know that I have struck a nerve. I was just trying to contrast the notion that the left is the tolerant party with the lack of tolerance that they have for people with differing political views.

The left has never been tolerant. Remember, if you are not part of their solution, you’re part of the problem. Oh sure, they preach tolerance and equality but when it comes down to it, they are the intolerant of those who do not agree with them.
I’ve been called nasty names including neo-con on other forums just because I agree that we should not be nice to the terrorist detainees in Gitmo (in case you’re wondering, I think that an “eye for an eye” is appropriate in that case). Let’s not forget the “meat is murder” crowd.
I can continue this rant, but I’ll spare you. In closing, if anyone opens their argument with “fuck you”, has already lost in my book.

Mr. Pink Eyes, I think this entire blog is non-functional. It’s sort of asking why psychopaths don’t fit in, or why rabid dogs make such a mess. We all know that liberals can’t stand dissent simply because they are smarter than we can ever hope to be and there is no way in hell that we can understand their superiority.

wELL mR. pINK EYES, I am a republican.I hate democrats because they don`t look for truths and proofs,when it comes to government.They seem to accept any thing that a democrat person tells them without searching for thruth and proof. You also get angry when someone disprooves you,because now that you know your wrong you can`t stand to be the idiot that you are.

It’s nothing to do with left or right or whatever arbitrary means people wish to segregate themselves by for a given situation. It’s the same reason why road rage seems to be in the news more and more. It’s the same reason why, when shit gets tough, people pull out guns and start spraying bullets instead of looking for help or kicking back at the shit themselves. It’s the same reason why I hate watching many of those debates on CNN (with supposedly successful/respected representatives) because they turn into matches of who can talk over the other person better. It’s easier to get angry and be insulted than to get real and truly involved. We’ve got a bajillion stereotypes flying through our heads: people see clothes, handicaps, manner of speech, who you date, what you do, what you believe, and the negative thoughts are already accumulating. It makes it much easier to throw respect out the window when you know this so-called “offensive” person is a damn conservative or an ass of a liberal, or whatever type of person you think you can’t stand before you’ve even given them a chance.
If people want to be heard, they’ve also gotta be willing to listen. Most people (or at least most of the most vocal people) seem to have never learned the latter skill. Which is odd, because I’m constantly trying to be better about saying hello to strangers I meet while out for walks and bicycle rides (I’m a fairly introverted person, so it hasn’t always come naturally). While some people respond, others are surprised, and some flat out ignore me. When it’s easy to bitch at other people and hard to be pleasant, that’s a real shame.

We are destined to enter World War 3 because of these *know it all* attitudes and there IS going to be a lot of blood shed and some people will foolishly mis-translate the bible to make it happen only having a tiny part of the information in their head since the KJ bible is poor translation itself confusing a lot of God seekers including me.
We are exactly like in 1912 when a lot of countries were at each others throats but they were equally afraid to make the first move knowing one country will defend another so it took the Archduke Fernindad who got shot which finally set it off and it will probably be another assasination by an ass hole to fire off WW3
The years before World War 1 if we had the internet back then people would be very tense and posting all sorts of crap about it because many had no respect for God or even morality in general but the difference is they wouldn’t swear as much.
A several amazing things about 1912 in terms of synchronicity.
Most of the rich on the Titanic not only didn’t believe in God (which they have the freedom to choose) but outright mocked him so it’s only fair they get spanked back by him or Lady Fate and I am sure this attitude went all the way up to the White Star Line Board Of Directors in charge of the ship materials and the decisions of the Captain that fateful night of April 14th 1912.
I read somewhere I cannot remember that It is believed the Captain of the Titanic actually had plans to help the hurting White Star Line by sinking the Titanic on purpose so the ship USS California 10 miles away would rescue all personal but obviously things didn’t go according to plan such as when the USS Californian radio operator went to bed after Jack Phillips told him rudely to “Shut up shut up I am busy working Cape Race” since the ships radio broke down earlier that day.
It gets more then that.
I can’t think of a more precise example then the coninedences Titanic on what happens if you openly mock God just for fun and there are interesting stories today of those who used to mock God becoming believers.
Sometimes I get angry at God when things don’t go right (which is most of the time) but I do not mock God for fun as I know karma will kick me in the ass harder then it is currently.
In other words their own arrogance made them shoot themselves in the foot making a string of poor choices led by the demons sucking off their negative energy which God could not help since they would not listen to their own conscience.
However on the contrast side:
Some people canceled reservations at the very last minute due to being able to sense what is going on with the attitudes and listening to their better judgement since it doesn’t take much of a brain to realize 2 + 2 equals 5……..oops! I mean 4. He he he. (joke).
Guess I better go back to school so I won’t be a fool!

I agree with you. I have been verbally attacked by these liberals who preach love, tolerance, equality, diversity etc. But they are all FULL OF SH!T!! You cant even politely disagree without Perez Hilton attacking your Miss America crown……liberals really need to check themselves into a mental institution!

Fuck you’s screed was mostly just silly. Yes, demand changes, constantly. It is affected by many things. Increasing the supply of a scarce commodity puts downward pressure on the price of a commodity, whether demand is generally going up or down. Just because demand is outpacing supply, doesn’t mean that increased supply doesn’t effect the price. Rather than oil being, say, $125.00 per barrel if supply stays constant, it might be $110.00 per barrel if supply is also increasing, even if not as quickly to meet the demand.
And I do find the left to be nasty. Even friends of mine who consider themselves “liberal”, employ rhetoric that is harsher than people who are more moderate or conservative.

A friend recently has been making ugly, hateful, posts on FB. Usually I just ignore and dont comment but today I finally asked him “when did you become so hateful”. I dont get this mentality. I dont assume all my friends agree with me politically so I usually dont discuss it in an open forum like FB. The only people I do know that post negative things are on the left. That is how I found this article. I just dont get it.

The reason liberals are so hate full is because they believe themselves more intelligent than any one that doesn’t agree with them. That the poor and people of color can not take care of themselves so that they need to help them. They need to keep them in one area and control them with enough money to let them live, but not enough to move up. Anyone that doesn’t agree or they deem uncontrollable are “numbnuts” or “fucking idiots” and are not willing to listen to another point of view, because there is only one and it’s theirs. I am more libertarian then anything. I wish we’d all mind our own business and I think everything else would fall into place.
