Global Warming Concerns Cause California to Possibly Ban Water Bottling Plant

July 30, 2008

Once again the global warming alarmists are flexing their anti-capitalist muscles. Why does this always seem to happen in California? Perhaps it is because of their Rino governor.

With nothing better to do the attorney general of California is going after the true enemy, capitalism. He wants to stop a water bottling company from building in California. Why? Because it is a possible cause of future global warming.

How many possible jobs would be created if this company were to be built? That doesn’t matter to the people who have fallen victims to the lie that is global warming. Global warming is a tax raising, big government, liberty draining, anti capitalist plot to subjugate the American people through taxes, regulations, and big government programs.

More taxes = less money = less freedoms and liberties, more regulations = less freedoms and liberties, less jobs = less money = less liberties and freedoms, and finally more government programs = less freedoms and liberties + more dependency on the government. Do you see a common theme here? I do.

Global warming is a conspiracy? … Devised to bring down capitalism?

Okey Dokey! I read it on the internet so it must be true! Just let me go polish my tin foil hat and we can get to work stopping this evil secret society of scientists and their maniacal leader Al Gore!

Seriously. If it turns out that human activity does have little influence over global environmental patterns these scientists will figure it out. All that unexploited oil will still have been sitting there when we do figure it out and our children will have reaped the benefits in lower fuel prices. Face it, fossil fuels will run out some day and any research into renewable energy we develop now will benefit us in the future.

I realize that I might be wasting keystrokes by appealing to long term benefits are kind of wasted on folks who think its a good idea to rack up humongous national debt while simultaneously cutting taxes (which leaves the burden of massive debt and/or inflation to our future generations)

But really, just relax. It will all sort itself out in the end, and if the scientists and that raving malicious Nazi Stalinist lunatic pedophile Al Gore (LOL) are wrong, then we really haven’t lost much of anything.

Sooooo……. we’re just supposed to feel guilty for everything? Bad humans, how dare you live, eat, breath, work and worst of all, procreate! How horrible! Hey, JC, did you sign the petition to ban hydrogen dioxide?

Why are you feeling guilty? Where is the guilt in this equation? What the heck are you talking about?

“Hydorgen dioxide” would be HO2. Which isn’t a stable molecule. I think you meant to write “Dihydrogen monoxide” which is still a sloppy way of writing H2O. But again… What the heck are you talking about?

Human activity is not melting the polar ice caps. The earth is not heating up. When Obama says “the cars in Boston are melting the polar ice caps” it sounds like a guilt trip to me. About the water thing, so I’m not a scientist, sue me!

The earth is definately heating up. The polar ice caps are definately melting. If this temperature rise continues for another 100-200 years it will be a catastrophy. These things are certain.

What is not certain is weather human activity is a major contributing factor in this change in temperature. Current scientific consensus among climatologists is that yes, it is. If the scientists are right, and If humanity wants to avert this disaster, then action to prevent it needs to start right now because in less than 50 years it will be too late.

It is entirely possible that human activity is not a major cause of the planet’s recent warming trend, and you can choose to believe that if you want. As I said above, if that is the case then scientists will eventually figure it out.

So go ahead and believe that the scientists are wrong, or like the poster of this blog, believe that the scientists are in some kind of conspiracy plot (Are you kidding me?). Then you don’t need to feel any “guilt.”

JC, I guess we kind of agree on one thing, human activity hasn’t been proven to be a cause of global warming.
As for the conspiracy theory, let’s not forget that scientists do get federal grants and don’t want to say anything that could cost them their money. (I admit, I love a good conspriracy now and then).
While the Arctic icecaps are melting, Antartica’s icecaps are growing.

You might want to note that Florida is having a problem with a bottling company. It has asked for permission to draw a huge amount of water from the aquifer to use as bottled water. Normally, not a problem in most states. In Florida we have had water restrictions for ten years.

I get a monthly letter complaining that I have used more than the average amount of water they (government) think I should use. Ooops! Is the government trying to control my life? Bad on me for using water when development here is rampant. Wonder why the water authority doesn’t do anything about the developers?

I’m just waiting for a court summons because of my water use. If I’m terrible, then so are the approximately half of the population who make up the rest of the “above average” water users. I don’t care what they think the proper usage is, there will always be about half of us who are above average.

As to global warming, I’ve heard that Mars has it and so has Jupiter. Must be a natural thing.

Also, don’t forget the fact that scientist that don’t tow the line about global warming… whoops… climate change are labeled as shills of Big Oil and start having a hard time getting their research published. The zealots go around accusing Bush of trying to sweep it under the rug while they go and do the same thing. Did you know that meteorologists are not allowed to be skeptical about it lest they lose their license? At least, that was the threat.

Gee Wiz, you guys ‘ll believe anything you’re told won’t you? Have fun in conspiracy la la land.

The truth is that if scientists publish research which is not reproducible by other’s they loose respect in their community and their grants run out because they’ve been fudging the numbers (they aren’t trustworthy). It’s called peer review. It works because science is a compteitive field and if good scientists eliminate some of their competition by falsifying bad scientist’s data, the bad scientists get pushed out and the good scientists get grants.

Show me one scientists in the field of environmental studies (or a related field) who admits to lying about climate change (or it’s related topics) in order to get more funding, recognition, sexual favors or anything else.

There are literally thousands of scientists out there working in this field, many of whom are Republicans. You should be able to point to at least who is honest enough to admit that they fudged the numbers. If you can’t find this person, maybe you should re-think your conspiracy theories and (people who taught them to you).

definitely (sp). There is no consensus in science. Science is based on proven and disproven facts.

The Cap and Trade scheme put together by the leftists.. is simply bogus. a fraud. Even GreenPeace claims it does nothing to affect “global warming”. This matter is simply an attempt to defraud taxpayers of their money in order to finance even more leftists assaults on freedom ie- capitalism. They didn’t even read the Bill before they voted on it. (300 pages of ammendments weren’t even provided to the legislators before they voted!). We deserve far, far more from our lawmakers. Right now, it’s a circus in D.C. with a pompous clown in charge.
