Video: How Stupid are Some Obama Supporters?

October 16, 2008

Howard Stern sent a man out on the street to interview people who are voting for Obama. He asked them about specific Obama policies, and if they agreed with them, only he used McCain’s actual policies to see if these people knew what they were talking about.

 Watch the hilarity.

Wow, and that wasn’t edited to show just the morons!
Let’s see if in a city like say, New York (one of the most populous cities in our country) we can find some pinheads who have no idea what they are talking about.

Like your own statement in the about me page…
You are against homosexual marriage because marriage is a religious institution, and yet… you want a law making it illegal. So you want a law made and imposed by man to interfere in an institution that you say is religious. Does that make sense?

So let me get this straight. You say you voted mostly Democratic until 9/11 even though your views seem to be anything but liberal (or Democratic if you prefer).

Sorry pal, you have never been a Democrat. A little tip here. If you are going to claim having once been a Democratic voter then you are going to have to stop using Democrat without the “ic” at the end as a means of denigrating Democrats.

That is why I said “some” supporters.

Yes I am against homosexual marriage based on it’s religious basis, how is a law that upholds a religious institution interfering with that institution, I say it is protecting it. I also said that I do not care if someone is homosexual, it is none of my business. Civil unions to me are much more acceptable, that would give gay couples all of the rights as marriage without changing the institution of marriage. Personally, this whole issue is way down on my radar list of issues that face this country.

And lastly, yes I have voted mostly democrat(ic) in the past, you don’t know me except for my about me page, and I wouldn’t have put it in there if it wasn’t true. I grew up and some day you will too.

Soooo…you are against gay marriage because marriage is a religious institution.

Here’s the thing, though, friend. There is meant to be a clear separation of church and state. So if you just want to be married in a church, and have that marriage recognized only by the church, and you don’t mind not receiving any government benefits or rights only enjoyed by married couples, then cool. Keep marriage for heterosexual couples only.

But I’m pretty sure you’d have a problem with that.

What don’t you understand? I said that I find civil unions more acceptable and that gives homosexuals the same rights as heterosexuals. Here in New Hampshire the civil union law says that if there is any question on rights than by law you must look at marriage for the answer to the question. That is equal rights.
And just for the record, the term seperationof church and state appears nowhere in the constitution. That term originated in a letter to the Danbury Baptists by Thomas Jefferson in 1802, 13 years after the constitution was ratified. The supreme court looked outside the constitution to interpret the constitution in 1947, and the rest is history.

The ridiculous assertion that a “civil union” is not a marriage is asinine. Merely arguing semantics does not change the fact that marriage and union are the same thing.
Your argument referring to the civil union laws is a little backwards. If the law states that marriage is the standard that must be fallen back on and the concept of marriage excludes same-sex couples then that is not equal rights, it is exclusionary… not equal.

Since it was Jefferson who wrote the Constitution and it was then Jefferson who referred to the first amendment as creating a wall of separation, don’t you think it is no stretch to then accept said separation? Don’t you want the government staying out of your religion? I certainly do.

The point I was making at the outset of my post was that in any group of sufficient size you will find any number of opinions, views or outright crackpots.
Are you and your conservative friends all of the opinions that Barack Obama is a terrorist who is a secret Muslim? If not then the point of posting the nonsense on Stern was what? To further the discourse on who actually has a clear plan for the economy, foreign policy, military? Stern is a jerk who appeals to the lowest common denominator.

I was actually ready to vote for McCain in 2000 until the horrible tactics of Karl Rove knocked him out of the election, but this McCain is not the man I respected in 2000. Don’t let similar tactics taint your ability to see who is the better candidate this election cycle despite your party affiliation.

Jefferson did not write the constitution, he wrote the Declaraion of Independence, Jefferson was an anti-federalist and was for keeping the articles of confederation in tact, he was against the federal government that the constitution created. It was James Madison who wrote the constitution.
I have never called Barack Obama a terrorist or a Muslim, and even if he were a Muslim that would not stop me from voting for him if he held the same conservative views that I hold.
I am no fan of Stern but I found this video funny, and sad at the same time, because there are many people out there that do not have any idea who they are voting for. I also find it amusing that a liberal like Stern would try to make other liberals look bad, anything for a buck I guess.
    And also, if
marriage and civil unions are the same thing and my argument is asinine than why doesn’t the left agree with your statement that marriage and civil union are the same thing? New Hampshire law does state that if there is a question of rights than traditional marriage laws apply. My whole point is that whether or not I am arguing semantics, as you say civil unions and marriage are the same thing, so what is the problem? Everyone should be happy.

    Obama represents himself as ‘pro-life’.
He really does, even though he voted against the born alive infant protection act 3 times and he has the most pro-abortion voting record of any liberal democrat on the hill.

    He’s a true deathocrat.
