Environmentalist Group Admits That Cap and Trade is Designed to Drive up Energy Prices
Finally someone is admitting the truth about the idea of cap and trade and of the global warming hoax. Some environmentalists and liberal activists have actually said that the president’s cap and trade policy is DESIGNED to drive up energy prices and implement a redistribution of wealth.
Greenstein told CNSNews.com that cap-and-trade is “supposed to” increase energy prices, and that skyrocketing electricity bills will, in turn, drive consumers to alternative forms of energy.
The government wants to drive the price of energy up to FORCE people to use the type of energy that the government approves of. A better way to get people to use alternative energy would be to improve the efficiency of alternative energy until the same level of efficiency is reached as fossil fuels. Once alternative energy becomes competitive with fossil fuels and the competition rises people will automatically choose the type of energy they prefer to use and in turn this will drive the price of all energy types down. A much more preferable result.
Why then is the government so adamant about FORCING people into behaviors that the government prefers by purposely driving up the price of a necessity? Is the the billions of tax dollars they look to bilk us out of? Is the the lust for control over the lives of her subjects? I would say that it is probably both.
It can no longer be said that the cap and trade policy is interested in helping to save the environment as we now have SUPPORTERS of cap and trade who are willing to tell us exactly what the theory behind the policy is. They are proud of what they want and hope to do to the people of the United States.
What I find interesting is the fact that they are now willing to admit what their agenda is in regards to cap and trade. They must feel emboldened by the recent developments in the government and the economy. With the government taking over private businesses and hiring and firing people in those businesses, and with the government taking over the banking industry, and with the hatred displayed by angry mobs and death threats made on AIG employees, and with the president’s approval rating still hovering around 61% these groups must feel like the people are ready to hear the truth about cap and trade.
These groups have been having trouble convincing the people about the cap and trade policies and they must feel that admitting that cap and trade will redistribute the wealth is more palatable to the American people given the political climate we seem to find ourselves in. These groups may believe that they have found a new and improved selling point. I find that a little disconcerting in itself, they may just be right.
At least they are finally admitting the truth.

It’s also meant to make someone a ton of money. Of course, the consumer that they are supposed to “protect” will pay the price.

That just happens to be a coincidence. 🙂 You are right though, the cost will be passed on to us, so while Obama doesn’t raise our taxes directly, we pay the price and he walks away without taking the blame.

The cap and trad policies will not be passed by congress, so the intention of the Obama administration is to pass them thru the EPA by decree. These proposed standards on green house gases will in fact destroy the economy of the United States. Energy prices will literally go thru the roof and businesses large and small will be forced to raise the price of their products or their services to the public. The individual who must pay to heat and cool his home will be forced to pay much more. Consumers will pay more at home, much more. Consumers will pay more everywhere–the grocery store, the movies, the cafe, the fast food places,the gas station, at every turn of our lives the new Obama policies will rob us, we rob us of our livelyhood and our children future. No Mr. Pinkeyes, this is not a plan for distribution, but a road to destruction, a road to total control or perhaps a road to revolution. Yes, Obama’s revolution could plunge this country into a new type of civil war, a war between the vast urban areas and the sprawing rural and surburban areas of the country. No north vs south this time. Obama is on a path to a violent revolution not the peaceful revolution he and his fellow-travelers have planned for. This is a dark picture, but sadly one that could materialize.

Yep, the EPA is now going to do what Obama wasn’t able to accomplish. We are going to pay and now there is no way to stop it.
Obama does seem to be stirring up hatred between the different classes, it started with the AIG bonuses. This could get ugly if he keeps stoking the populist flames.

The Concept of CO2 Cap and Trade is Absurd
The real reason Cap & Trade is being foisted on the world is it creates a 3 trillion dollar commodity market for you guessed it: hot air. Finally politicians have found a way to put a price on their most abundant resource! And for politicians there is no downside as nothing has to be actually produced. The real beneficiaries are the rich special interest who will get wealthier setting up and trading in this new commodities market.
The cost will be past to citizens who will pay more taxes to operate new regulatory bureaucracies and more for goods as business passes the cost along to them.
All this based on the premise that operating automobiles is resulting in global warming. Question: did Fred Flintstones truck fleet cause the last period of global warming or is global warming a cyclical event that is more affected by sun spot cycles. The Earth has had multiple tropical and glacial ages over the millennia. The most recent news is that the oceans of the world will be cooling for the next 25-30 years.
Furthermore, it is my understanding that the most prevalent hot house gas is water vapor. Should citizens of earth try to stop the rain cycle?
And if we are going to implement Cap and Trade who will decide what the optimal CO2 carrying capacity of Earth is?
And there are questions about how to implement financial controls and reliably audit such a system. Will every person and business on the planet be issued C02 permits? Is the permit an asset a business can liquidate when it goes out of business? If a business in California goes out of business and sells its CO2 permit to a company in England, will a new company in California have to find another seller to open his business and replace lost jobs? After all, if there is an optimal CO2 carrying capacity then an increasing population of people and businesses means a lower standard of living and reduced CO2 allotment for each new person or business.
Upon their death can Mom and Dad leave their CO2 permits to their children? Should Mom and Dad be limited to having two children?
What about the countries that do not subscribe to Cap & Trade. Will multi-national companies export new construction and jobs to 3rd world non-subscribing countries? And the flipside, will the people of the Amazon miss out on new opportunities because an American company bought 1000s of acres to be left unused to acquire carbon sequestration credits.
