Janeane Garofalo Says That The Tea Parties Were Racist

April 17, 2009

janeane-garofalo-5a I wasn’t going to waste my time writing about this quote from Janeane Garofalo, but how often is it that you can find such a colossal example of  ignorant, bigoted, insulting, stupid, arrogant, uninformed, malicious, moronic, intolerant, close-minded, idiocy from just one person? Usually you would to combine Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, and Rosie O’Donnel to come up with equal stupidity to what Janeane Garofalo said.

In case you haven’t heard, here is what Janeane Garofalo said about EVERYBODY that attended a tax day tea party:

“Let’s be very honest about what this is about. This is not about bashing Democrats. It’s not about taxes. They have no idea what the Boston Tea party was about. They don’t know their history at all. It’s about hating a black man in the White House, this is racism straight up and is nothing but a bunch of teabagging rednecks. There is no way around that.”

She KNOWS, KNOWS FOR A FACT that ever single person who attended a tea party was a racist. Have you ever read a statement that was more uninformed than that one? She does not understand what the true meaning of the tea parties was and neither does she care to. I have heard estimates that the total number of people that attended the 500 events across the country was 250,000. I think that might be high, but for every person that attended I would guess that there were 10 other who would have liked to but had to work. This is not just a few people that  Janeane Garofalo insulted, she insulted everybody that believes in lower taxes and less government. There were not just extreme right wing potential domestic terrorists there, there were Democrats and Independents also, Mz. Garofalo would understand that if she had a clue, or at least tried to understand.

These tea parties had nothing to do with the president’s color, who gives a damn, and everything to do with his policies. But these far leftists just don’t think that anybody could possibly have anything against the president’s policies so they believe there has to be something else– his race.

Anybody who dares to question the president’s policies is a racist, and attacked as such according to the leftist playbook. No longer is dissent patriotic, it is now racist. Has anyone else noticed that the only people who mention the president’s color are liberals? The rest of us don’t care, we are more concerned with the direction of the country.

How can a liberal who is supposed to be so compassionate and tolerant be so closed minded?

But the foundation was laid out before the tea parties began for this argument. It is no coincidence that report from Homeland Security that warned police to be on the lookout for right wing extremists that included people who were anti-abortion, for smaller government, for lower taxes, and for state’s rights came out the day before the tea parties. This report linked the preceding groups with white supremacist as people to keep an eye on.  It was the playbook handed to the far left to discredit the people with whom they disagree. And the timing was intentional.

We know CNN used the template that was laid out in the Homeland Security report in their coverage of the tea parties.  Susan Roesgen, a CNN reporter mentioned that this was nothing but an anti-government rally.

Another reporter, I forget which network but I heard it, mentioned to a participant at a tea party that she didn’t see any minorities at the tea party.

And now Janeane Garofalo, and I am sure more of Hollywood will follow, has glommed on to the angle that the tea parties were nothing but a bunch of white supremacists protest a black man in the white house.

They are trying to to discredit us and intimidate us into silence, we cannot let this happen. We must not be intimidated, we must continue to fight for what we believe in.

The truth is that they are scared. They are afraid of this movement and they want to stop it. So they will try to discredit it.  They are afraid because the tea parties were organized the same way that the president was able to raise so much campaign money– through the webroots. Now we have a potential to gain momentum through the internet and they know that it works.

Janeane Garofalo and Anderson Cooper and anyone else can say whatever they want but WE know the truth about the movement, about who we are and what we believe, and  we will not be silenced by their political terrorism.

Oh, and by the way, I would gladly take a US history test and compare my scores to her scores.

I’ve already wasted too much time on this moron, that is 811 words I will never get back.

Something wrong with this one, LOL

Obama’s Rasmussen Poll #’s go negative tomorrow, IMO

His approval index was down to a measly +2 last week- and the TEA Parties couldn’t have helped any, rather they poked a hole in the “everybody loves Barack” nonsense… because millions of us don’t.

The vast majority of Americans DON’T want a massive government sector and all the weird totalitarian schemes Barack has up his sleeve- and now the ones who had given him the benefit of the doubt are starting to figure out just what he’s up to… and they don’t like it.

Obama can expect SERIOUS resistance from this point-on… because what he’s doing both at-home and abroad is resolutely un-American.

Come to think of it has Janeane Garofalo really ever said anything that intelligent? OK, I am reading that she did graduate from college with an American study degree (I wonder if she could tell us what the real Boston Tea Party was about?) Are we really going to follow a lady who is an outspoken pessimist always seeing “The Dark Side of things…”

To be honest, she is just bitter because she has never become this all-star actress, comedian or TV Show Host. She has tried, but she has never become what she truly wants to be.

Is it any surprise that she would comment calling these “conservatives” racist or the lack that their synapses are not quite connecting together? How could an outspoken atheist understand conservative values? They can not. Their problem is not something in their head – it deals with their heart. They know their is a God deep inside, but they do not want to admit it. They want to pretend like he does not exist – if he does not exist then they can do whatever they want. They are not accountable to anything. Not at all.

The more time that passes – these kind of ridiculous statements will be stated more and more.

I don’t think we wasted time because she thinks we are confused, thus, the reason for my rebuttal. I wanted her or those like her, to understand that she isn’t dealing with idiots. Just because I didn’t attend the University of Hollywood doesn’t mean that I don’t understand what is going on in my country.

Anyway, now that I said my peace, I will go quietly in the night……not!

She is going to learn that we are not fools and we are not who she thinks we are, we are not going away. This is only the beginning. They trivialize the event because they are afraid of it. They should be.

You asked if there are any examples better than Janeane Garofalo of a bigot. Well, there’s Rush Limgaugh, Ann Coulter, Bill O’Reilly etc etc…all of whom have said and continue to say far more insulting and bigoted.

You’re examples are ridiculous because the definition of a bigot is “One who is strongly partial to one’s own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.” Those you listed in your comment don’t exclude other differing opinions.

Do they have strong belief systems yes. But they don’t go out and group a whole segment of society into a category that doesn’t even fit. In addition, they take the facts and apply them as need. Here Garofalo did not do that. She called me a racist, which is so far from the truth. She also denigrates any people that she sees as inferior.

Maybe you need to stop drinking koolaid and start drinking TEA.

Tarbo is probably a drive-by troll. What Garofalo said is close minded, hateful, and ignorant. On the other hand, let’s not make this group out as being open minded and balanced when they are not. There are a number of people that would say that they do fit your definition; in particular the “or politics” part of it. They in fact do group whole segments of society into a category. I know they do it because I hear it with my own ears.

A troll is a person that just goes from blog to blog or website to website and hates on the posts there. They just swoop in throw flames and leave, never to come back again. Or if they do they will use another name so that you think it is different people.

I’m sorry, she is an ignorant moran and totally clueless. But that would make her how different from Obama and the left wing of the Democratic congress? You can bet they are taking this seriously. Did you see the number of Dem votes that backed away from the assault weapon ban. This is the beginning. The yellow dogs and blue dogs are going to start barking very soon.

I think that they are taking it seriously and the reason they are trying to laugh it off is because they are scared and they are trying to discredit it.
I thought the same thing about the assault weapons ban, Obama backed down from it after supporting it. There has to be reason, he was afraid of the ramifications.

Thank you for taking the time to post those 811 words. It was a sucky job for sure, but someone had to do it. Thanks for volunteering.

As for that DISGUSTING report from DHS, it was not written as a public document, but when they figured out it would probably scare many people away from joining these tea parties, it was purposely leaked. The leakers should spend some time in jail for that, but you and I know they won’t!

I have to disagree with the 250,000 number also, but I am confident it was much higher. There were more than 1000 parties and many many of them saw many thousands, up to 10,000 to 15,000. I have seen pictures and youtube clips with a staggering number of people in them. I would not be at all surprised to find that the total was well over 1,000,000.

I’m going to have to disagree with you on how it got leaked. I think it is more likely that it was leaked by someone who took offense to it. If one does not consider the context for which it was written, it is an inflammatory document. I admit it angered me at first because I do fit some of the profiles.

IMHO, if it was a liberal that leaked it, I would think that it would have gone something like this: “Ha! Ha! Welcome to the club terrorists”.

You may be right, but I still find the timing a little strange. Although it could be someone who took offence to it and realized that this would be the perfect time to leak it.

My understanding (from FOX I think) was that the a police department leaked it because they disagreed with it and found it quite alarming.

I agree that the timing was one heck of a coincidence. I am skeptical when it comes to coincidences in politics. Given the fact that the report was requested by the Bush administration. I have to wonder if the report was conceived to make the Obama administration look bad.

There was no way that the tea parties could have been anticipated at the time. For it to be released at a time where it would have maximum effect for the tea parties, it would have required an insider. There is a time honored practice (Bush was no exception) called “burrowing.

This is all conspiracy theory so take it for what it is worth. If true, my reaction would be “well played” to those involved.

I hadn’t heard that Dominique, but that wouldn’t surprise me.

Terrant, I love a good conspiracy theory every once in a while. I don’t think that Bush would have seen far enough into the future to see that this report could have been used against him. However there is a Bush hold over in the Defence Department, Robert Gates, so you never know, maybe there was a plan in the works.:)

It actaully was easy once I started writing, it just sort of flowed out of me at that point. 🙂
I have been reading that the number will be over 1,000,000 when the totals are in. I didn’t realize the movement was that big. I esimated the Manchester event at between 1,000-2,000 and it ended up being 4,000, so that shows you what I know.
