Air Force One Photo Op Sends Panic Through New York City

April 27, 2009

photoopThe administration decided that they needed a new publicity photo of Air Force One so they decided to fly it over Ground Zero at low altitude and buzz the Statue of Liberty  trailed by fighter jets. They didn’t think the sight of low flying planes near Ground Zero would bring back memories of September 11th and/or panic that maybe this was another attack so they didn’t bother to notify anybody of the scheduled fly over. Or maybe they just didn’t think, period.

Buildings were evacuated and panic spread through the city as many New Yorkers thought that they we under attack because this administration was too shortsighted to at least warn the city of the planned activities.

Here is what Mayor Bloomberg had to say:

“The good news is it was nothing more than an inconsiderate, badly conceived and insensitive photo op with the taxpayers’ money,” Bloomberg said, echoing the comments of Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer and other New York officials.

Today they apologized for such a stupid, moronic, and insensitive idea. That’s nice, but the fact remains that they are still all of the above. How the hell could they schedule something like this and not think that they should warn the city of New York, it makes no sense. The administration showed a real lack of judgement in this ill advised photo op.

And this is supposed to be the smartest man to ever occupy the White House?

I’m pretty sure that Obama was not aware of what was being planned. I think the idiot responsible has fessed up already. My question is why was it classified?

There was something going on here and I don’t know what it is. We probably will never know.

This is a pattern. Someone chosen by the President, directly or indirectly, has made a stupid mistake. It’s not just a mistake, it is a STUPID mistake. And as in every Presidency, it leads to the President’s policy, ideology, personality, values, and morality. All make up the choices made for this President and every other person on earth.

I know I am going to be the odd man out, but I really wonder if this wasn’t done purposefully and with intent.

President Obama is a brilliant man. He had to know this would cause this kind of reaction. Hello. 3,000 people died! You don’t forget that.

What if this was to gage the reaction of New Yorkers? That seem quite plausible to me.

But, on the off hand it was another “stupid” mistake, this President and his cabinet are making a lot of “stupid” mistakes on a regular basis.

Something stinks about this, I don’t know what it is but I am sure it wasn’t just a “photo op.”

BTW – my comment was not meant as an attack on anyone here. Just my thought process at the moment! 🙂

Well, I think (yes it’s probably paranoid) that the admin. just told a few police about the photo op b/c they think it’s none of the publics business. It’s a big secret! We’re not important enough to know about it. Remember, we should all be worried about getting swine flu. Nothing up my sleeve!

Well no worries. Soon enough everyone on this site will be in jail because of our belief of individual rights. There are so many things in the works right now, I can’t keep up. Trying to force a license in order to just own a gun, not purchase one, own one. Adding homosexual and transgender to the “Hate Crime” bill…to me murders and the like are based on hate, no matter what color, sexual orientation, etc. you are. It’s a farce. Just prosecute & uphold the existing laws, that will cover all the basis. Kathleen Sebilius is now the head of Health & Human Services, what a joke! Napaleano is a joke too. More and more freedoms and individual rights are being taken away and there is so much going on that we can’t keep up with everything…And that my friends is the whole idea. The first 100 days…what more, I fear, it to come.

Sal – or anyone else that visits Mr. Pink Eyes –

If you haven’t heard the NRA is working to dramatically increase their numbers to block Obama’s push on restricting guns. To do so, they are giving away FREE one year memberships.

You can get more information here.

The NRA is our voice in Washington and they need our support. Dominique is right, anyone who cares about the second amendment should take advantage of their offer of free membership.
