Nancy Pelosi Finally Admits She Knew About Waterboarding And Did Nothing

May 11, 2009

nancy-pelosi1Nancy Pelosi has been lying for years about what she knew about waterboarding and when she knew about it. But as more and more CIA documents were released she finally had to come clean and admit that she did in fact know that the CIA was using waterboarding all along but did nothing to prevent it.

Her first lame claim was that the CIA told her that they could use waterboarding but that they did use waterboarding. This was how she tried to say that she didn’t know that the CIA was waterboarding. But that story fell apart with the release of a briefing that she attended in 2003 when she was told that the CIA did waterboard a detainee.

Now she is cover your ass mode and has finally told at least a little bit of the truth. Nancy Pelosi is backtracking from her original claim. She is now claiming that it would have been improper to protest waterboarding in 2003 and that she had to respect legislative channels. Jane Harman was also briefed on waterboarding and drafted a letter opposing the method, a letter that Nancy Pelosi refused to sign. Why if she was opposed to waterboarding back then did she not at least sign this letter opposing the method? Democrats are blaming President Bush for the fact that they didn’t oppose President Bush.

You have to remember, in the 2002 period, the whole atmospherics, it was all about scaring people every day,” said Elmendorf. “People were legitimately concerned that we were going to be attacked again, and there was a constant drumbeat coming from the Bush administration of, ‘Bad things could happen, bad things could happen.’ Nobody wants it to happen on their watch

Typical. The fact is that Nancy Pelosi knew what was going on all along and didn’t oppose it until the Democrats managed to turn the American people against the war effort by claiming that our troops were equivalent to Pol Pot, Nazi’s, and Soviet gulags. Once it became politically expedient to oppose waterboarding that is when she decided to oppose it. When she thought the American people supported it, so did she.

This woman has been exposed as a liar and a hypocrite and there is no reason to believe she is telling the whole truth now. I say bring on the investigations into the Bush administration. If the left finally realizes their wet dream of seeing President Bush and Dick Cheney in handcuffs then right behind them in handcuffs and ankle bracelets will be Nancy Pelosi.

Don’t assume that they will not want to see her in handcuffs as well. From what I’ve been reading they are not happy about her. Hopefully, this heat might be enough to get her booted from speaker.

I agree they would like to see Pelosi prosecuted also although I have to admit that I meant to say “far left” and not “left”, I still don’t believe that those that lean left want to see Bush and Cheney prosecuted. If they did Cindy Sheehan probably would have given her a run for her money in the last election.

    Right-freaking-on, Mr P/E-

Obama really kicked an ant hill with his ill-advised and politically motivated release of Bush Administration memos regarding EITs.

Let’s have a hearing and get it all out there, shall we? Then watch the rats scatter who attacked Bush for protecting the country from terrorist attack… but who clearly knew what was going on five years before we heard a peep out of them.

That’s why there’s not going to be an investigation.

I think that is exactly why Obama opposes having an investigation, he knows that he has opened a can of worms and most of the players here are dirty. This was politically motivated by him but he didn’t think it through and now the spotlight is being shined on his own party.

Slight disagreement… I think that is why he did not want to release them in the first place.

I wonder if this is why Cheney is now saying he will testify to the fact that he permitted waterboarding. He understands who will come out of this with egg on thier…errr…her face!

CHeney knows who knows what. Did that make sense? And he knows that there are many people who are just as responsible for letting waterboarding take place. Now that he is out of office he can finally begin to fight back.

Ya know, IF we can survive the financial maladies the nation is suffering, and IF Obama and Company keep on doing exactly what they have been, Obama may turn out to be really GOOD for America…

Now think about it, he’s already guns and ammo salesman of the year, he is bringing the RIGHT together like never before and he’s alienating his own party…

It doesn’t get much better than that!! 🙂

As Vincent said, good point Fred. It does seem that Obama is uniting the Republican party and dividing the Democrat party, even if the media continues to portray it as the opposite.

Good point Fred. I have said that before, in a slightly different way. Obama may just turn out to be what pushes us so far that we overcome our social differences and unite against socialism and the liberal dimocrats.
Our party has ceased to represent us and even the democratic party no longer represents it’s own traditional core values. Did I just accuse the dims of having values? Shame!!
Nothing unites like a common enemy, and sometimes only when the situation becomes truly unbearable. And I for one find this situation unbearable.

I think she should be impeached for lying. I guess we need to get her under oath but as far as I am concerned, she is in print lying and that is good enough for me.

I can only imagine the boatload of lies this woman has espoused these past several years. Keeping her in the government is ill advised at best!

Good insight there TexasFred. I get caught up in the negativity of it all so much that sometimes I forget that for every action there is a reaction.
