Gun Control Group: “Right Wing Extremist Report” Means we Need New Gun Control Laws
Just when you thought that all of the fervor had died down in regards to Janet Napolitano’s “radical right wingers” report up pops one of the biggest gun control groups to seize on the report as an excuse to advocate more gun control laws on top of the 14,000 already in place.
An executive at the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence has said that now that there is proof of a possible uprising by right wing extremists it is time to ban assault weapons.
I think it certainly helps to make that case because what that report suggests is that there is a rise in the kind of paramilitary activity that we saw actually in years before the Oklahoma City bombing,” Dennis Henigan, the vice president for law and policy at the Brady Center
He claims that there is “very credible evidence” that an attack like Oklahoma City could be in the works.
Now, unfortunately there is very credible evidence that that is beginning to happen again,” Henigan added later. “So, there is no place on our streets for these kinds of military weapons
He is using Janet Napolitano’s report as a means to bring back the assault weapons ban. The “credible evidence” he is referring to is the report itself. As NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam points out the assault weapons ban was allowed to expire after ten years because it was useless and ineffective. But here we have a group that is willing to exploit all of those groups that were singled out in Janet Napolitano’s report, to once again call those groups “threats” and use it as a tool to begin the implementation of stricter gun control.

I am concerned that this will be a self fulfilling prophesy in that all the fevor to implement new gun control and the concern of citizens that value their liberties will clash and create more friction and therefore a greater likelyhood of something getting out of hand. Thus justifying, in the liberal mind, after the fact the need for gun control. It’s a classic tactic of the cowardly. Antagonize an otherwise peaceful opponent into aggression in order to justify aggression against said opponent.

You could be right, maybe that is what their plan is.

Here’s a little TRUTH for the gun grabbers, OKC was done with a RENT TRUCK, some fertilizer and some diesel fuel, NO OTHER WEAPONS were used…
So, if libberpuke logic follows it’s normal path…. BAN FERTILIZER…. BAN DIESEL FUEL…. BAN RENTAL TRUCKS….
I knew a guy that died of melanoma, why aren’t the libberpukes screaming BAN SUNSHINE???

Good point, using Oklahoma City as a justification for gun control when there were no weapons used at the Oklahoma City bombing shows us that they will use anything that they can to justify infringing on the second amendment.

Yep I’m for it, as long as Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, Dick “Turbin” all have brain transplants first!

If you read Billy Budd, by Herman Melville, the evil mate on the ship taunts Billy into striking him, therefore committing a hanging offense. It works, the evil guy survives, and Billy is hanged from the yardarm.
As said up above, a classic tactic of the cowardly, and one that has worked for centuries. The problem is determining the point where one must act instead of acting when they want you to act. At this time, I don’t see the need for overt action, just good legal political action to reverse the trends of this administration.
I’m all for voting out all incumbents in the next election and voting in good independent candidates for one term. Let’s get people who aren’t devoted to party or continuation in office. Let’s get people who are devoted to our Constitution and our democratic republic.

mustang,
Sounds good, but where do we find these people who are devoted to our Constitution and our democratic Republic?
You sure as hell will not find them in politics, with the possible rare exception.
As I see it, voting out the incumbents and voting in “Good people” is infeasible for the simple reasons that politicians masquerade as good people for as long as they can and we as a Nation have become too diverse to agree upon what constitutes “Good people”. The diversity that was once our strength has become our nemesis.
Diversity only lends strength when it is made of of mostly superior quality individual components. Too many inferior components undermine the integrity of the amalgam and all you have left is slagg.
As in the melting pot analogy, the blending of different metals and minerals can, in the proper proportion, result in an allow having properties exceeding those of the individual components. And this technique is often used to improve the qualities of and otherwise undesirable material and is quite successful, when the inferior materials are used sparingly, not to exceed some experimentally determined threshold. We as a society have exceeded that threshold and our amalgam has broken and we are left with a lot of useless slagg.
Yes, I know that my opinion is not PC or popular and many would call me jingoist and a bigot. But the fact is that I believe, as is my God given right, that the American people, until the recent influx of undesirables, are superior to other peoples. We reached the threshold of ideal allow about fifty to one hundred years ago.
What do we do now? Obviously we cannot just throw out the whole pot and start over, as would my Great-grandfather and Grandfather, blacksmiths by trade, would have. And we cannot just keep adding material in hopes of eventually improving the allow. I believe that we must re-smelt. When re-smelting an allow, you heat the amalgam to extreme temperatures so that the inferior components separate and are burt off or can be separated by chemical means.
Simply speaking, we have to turn up the heat and make our country uncomfortable, even unbearable to the undesirables.
We have to stop supporting the free loaders and the entitled class. And yes, I agree that we have to get rid of the current bunch of politicians. Maybe the next bunch will behave out of fear if not out of loyalty. For a while anyway.
I am feed up with the current state of affairs and looking for a way to change it and am open to, seeking suggestions of a solution.

ea, yea, before someone points it out, the word “allow” in the above rant should read “alloy”. Thank you auto correct. It usually works great until you use a word not in the settings and I didn’t catch it this time.

Mustang, I agree with Vincent (and you also), I love the idea of voting them all out and replacing them with those who will uphold the constitution. I am just not sure there are any more politicians out there who care about the constitution.
I for one will be voting against every incumbant in office in the next election.

At least there are several states now that are working on amending their constitution to null and void any of these new regulations/laws by the Federal government. That makes me hopeful.
