Democrats Hire Speed Reader to Read Cap and Trade Bill
As I wrote about here, the Democrats are trying to rush the cap and trade bill through congress before the American people can find out what is actually in the bill. The cap and trade bill is almost 1,000 pages long and much like the stimulus bill, the Democrats want to pass it before members of congress have a chance to read it.
Republicans have threatened to read the complete bill word for word on the senate floor before any vote is taken. A procedure that lawmakers have every right to enforce. (What a novel idea huh? Reading a bill before a vote is taken.) This idea is not sitting well with Democrats because they do not want the American people to find out what is in this bill.
Democrats are now countering the Republican efforts to read the bill by hiring a speed reader to help lawmakers read the bill quickly and thwart Republican efforts to make the bill known to the public.
I guess you have to give the Democrats credit for their ingenuity, this has to be the first time that a speed reader has been employed to thwart the efforts of a party to read a large bill before voting on it.
Democrats will stop at nothing to ensure that this bill passes before Americans realize that this bill is going to screw them big time. It is more important to them to pass legislation on the scam that is known as global warming than it is for them to at least allow the people to hear what is in this bill. In their eyes it must be passed quickly or it may never pass at all.
In order to protect the president’s agenda on global warming the Democrats have stooped to the point where they feel the need to exercise such a bush league maneuver in order to sneak this bill through congress.

? This sounds like some kind of joke! Does it get any loonier?

It does sound crazy, doesn’t it? Is this what we have come down to?

How would hiring a speed-reader stop the GOP from reading the bill still?

Uh? I am not sure, you got me there.

A novel concept I guess.

To read or not to read, really does it make any difference—written by attorneys and interpreted by a federal judge. Who will know what the bill does or doesn’t do. A blind and deaf cross-eyed Chinaman would have a better chance than a congressman.

Just the same, all this talk–blah blah blah…. I hope someone is reading the silly thing! give it to me! I like to read. Speed reader, yeah right. I think Evelyn Woods program was one of the original “infomercials”. infomercial=waste of time.

You know what this sounds like to me. When I was a kid and I wanted to do something I new was wrong or I had been told not to. I would do it really fast before I got caught!
It sounds, to me, like the Democrats are doing the same thing. They are rushing to get things done that they know we won’t like before we discover the truth and can kick them to the curb.

True, they are in a hurry for a reason. They do not want to get caught before they get the bill passed. They don’t want the people to actually hear what is in this bill.

Does any one know where I can get a copy of this 2009 cap and trade bill? I would like a read at it?
Thanks,

If you read it you will be the first. The house passed the bill without reading it.

Somehow, I feel that I’m stuck on a railroad track with AMTRAK due any minute. The effort of the Dems to run things through so fast is ludicrous, yet no one is taking to the streets yet. What will it take to wake America up? I’ll be at the local Tea Party on the 4th, but there will be no coverage other than the local rag. I can only hope that we notify our representatives and senators that we’ll look at their voting record before election day and we’ll clean out the scum and vote for new independents. Let’s get a Clean Slate 2010 effort going. Maybe then we can reverse some of the idiocy.
