Joe Biden Says “Everyone Guessed Wrong” on the Stimulus Package
On “Meet The Press” this is what Joe Biden had to say about the stimulus package:
everyone guessed wrong
He made that statement referring to the lack of impact that the stimulus bill has had on the ever worsening economy. Whoops, sorry, we guessed wrong. Three trillion dollars down the drain. Thank you all for playing. Come again.
Here is my problem with that moronic statement. The economic advisers in the president’s cabinet should not be guessing in the first place.
The president has a team of advisers to work on the economy, these people are supposed to be experts, they should form an economic plan based on experience. If they were going to force this disastrous stimulus package down our throats the least that they could have done was not to have guessed what to do.
Now that Joe Biden has admitted that the president’s economic team is grasping at straws it is time to hold someone accountable. I would start with Timothy Giethner and go from there.
The whole “solution” of throwing money at the problem obviously did not work and considering that is all that this administration has tried to do on every problem where do we go from here? Are we just going to throw more money at the problem?
This was a damning statement by the vice president, as well as an admission of failure, and it highlights the president’s lack of business experience. He has never run anything before and now he is in charge of the entire economy.

“Now that Joe Biden has admitted that the president’s economic team is grasping at straws it is time to hold someone accountable. I would start with Timothy Giethner and go from there.”
Seriously? You so believe every word that Joe Biden utters on Meet the Press that you’re willing to let our country’s economic policy be driven by his pronouncements? You are willing to let a Biden quip convince of you the stimulus package’s failure, yet you are unwilling to let a 30% stock rally, significant increase in capital market activity and cresting of unemployment convince you of its success?
Wow.

A Biden “quip”??? THis man is second in line to the presidency. Don’t you think he should choose his words more carefully, and be serious? Why is it OK for him to “quip”? Is it OK for the Vice President of the United States to be a bufoon? I don’t think it is.

Seriously? Have you been an American long? Did you ever hear of a guy named Dan Quayle? Vice President is not an honorific qualifier.

I have to agree with Deb on this one. Joe Biden is the VP and as such he can’t be running around making stupid, idiotic comments like this one. And yer Biden should be taken seriously, we all know that he is a baffoon but he is next in line for the presidency and should be just a little more reponsible.

Now the left cares about the stock market? What about the whole fixing Main street not Wall street angle that was played up during the debates? I thought that these were the rich people that we wanted to see pay. Now you are using Wall street to tout Obama’s success.

Is that seriously what he said or could we get some context? No seriously the link you provide doesn’t provide anything more than you do, which make me wonder why you linked at all.

It was the first report on this issue, that is why I linked to it. A simple google will now provide many more accounts to this moronic statement than I had available when I wrote this.

You picked 3 words out of context from Joe Biden of all people. You must be bored as hell.

I suspect that one big problem with the so-called stimulus package was the fact that many parts of it were aimed at political goals as opposed to economic goals. Politicans do nothing, nothing without weighing the political consequences, often however they are surprised that their “best laid plans” go south, and I don’t mean to Dixie!

You have hit the nail on the head. Obama has achieved what he wanted. Not economic recovery but a bigger, even more bloated government with even more people dependent on the government.

Mr. Pink Eyes had it right. Here’s the AP putting it into context.

Thanks for the link. It is amazing to me how many people are willing to defend Biden on this. He said what he said, I did not take it out of context.

is it really that amazing? the followers of this administration want so much to believe in the current president, that they repeatedly justify every misstep, miscalculation, and misunderstanding (let alone misGUESSING) with irrational arguments. it is human nature to be biased toward one thing or the other at times. but our country is too important, and our moment at this very point in history is too grave to be turning a blind eye to bad decisions of the President of the United States and voting on populist rhetoric. wrong is wrong, regardless of intention. what is it that they pave the road to hell with?

Great points, and you are right, it really isn’t that amazing that Obama’s supporters are so apologetic towards this president.

@ johnny_sayso: The question is, on what basis do you deem Obama’s actions to be missteps, miscalculations and misunderstandings. You asserting them to be so is your opinion, to which you are fully entitled. It is no more and no less.
My comment was not irrational. It is based on the actual facts that the credit markets have improved markedly, that the equity markets are up fantastically, and unemployment are starting to turn the corner.
Do you see economic evidence of the stimulus plan’s failure? If so, what evidence do you see? Or is your post more of an ideological reflex?

Interesting enough, President Obama said these exact words to the public, “the stimulus worked.” Obviously Obama is outright lying to the public.
Last week the current administration actually attempted to gain even more control over future bailouts with new legislation…..http://stock-broker-security.com/government-banks-financials/

the media bothers to point out that his remarks have no relation reality.
There are three things I like about Joe Biden: I like his nice white teeth. And he wears great shoes and socks. He has the world’s most dapperly attired feet.
Apart from his smile and his feet there is nothing else worth mentionng.
